I wasn't planning on joining any discord feature soon. Then, after BeamNG's official server opened I changed my mind and decided to jump in. Oh boy, that was quite a ride... :)

Currently started to look at Computer Wheels again the question now is should i use my Logitech Driving Force GT again or should i invest in a G920 so i can play forza and so on too? Yes im aware there are adaptors for using the Driving Force so i can play it on my XBox but they cost 90 euros and a used G920 costs 150 but it then has a Shifter and so on wich i kinda would want. Any ideas?

I use a Driving Force GT for BeamNG.drive. I broke one of the pedals but it still works. I eventually want to get a wheel that is compatible with Forza and BeamNG that also has a shifter+clutch. The Driving Force GT is a very robust wheel that works even under my relatively heavy abuse, so yours should last a long time.

I got a G27 for Christmas many years ago, based on the advice of members of another forum who swore that all the fastest times in a certain game were set with those, however it seems that gear-driven wheels do not have the most realistic steering feel. Also, forget about trying to use the H-shifter unless you have a significantly better way to secure it than just attaching it to your desk with the stock clamps; you will never be able to figure out a true racing downshift if you constantly have to worry about randomly throwing your shifter on the floor.

PMB: Computer auto-downloaded some faulty drivers yesterday which caused constant BSOD crashes, until the computer had to be force-restarted so many times that it started auto disc checking on bootup without giving me a chance to skip it.

And then it BSOD'd in the middle of an automatic disc check.

This completely bricked the computer into a "critical process died" boot loop, requiring a hasty backup of personal files to an external HDD followed by a complete reinstall... or actually multiple complete reinstalls, because the Windows 10 setup process is tricky and was being done by someone other than me while I was at work... to get it running again. Thanks to the multiple reinstalls, I now have multiple "Windows.old" folders cutting me down to 40.7GB free of a 500GB SSD, which means that everyone's personal files are technically still there to be cherry-picked through, but I'll probably have to redownload all my games to get them to work right, which is a time suck I'm not looking forward to, especially as I won't have this day off like I thought I would. On the plus side, I can delete most of what was saved, off the external HDD as well.

At this point I'm starting to think that if I want to continue playing in the glitch-laden world of Windows 10, especially with this rig which has always been somewhat flaky for whatever reason, I should invest in a good disk-imaging program so I can make these failures unhappen much more quickly in the future.

The unrealistic steering fell is something i noticed too espacially with Force Feedback. I have never driven a Large american Luxury car but i imagine it feels similar to a PC Wheel

The Driving Force GT's force feedback isn't realistic to large American luxury cars either. My issue with the Force feedback is that you can feel the teeth of the gears engaging. It depends on the car, but the Regal's steering is light but also provides some feedback. The Suburban on the other hand has the lightest steering I have driven. If you move the steering wheel past all of the free play, it actually provides a lot of feedback and you can feel the road very well.

The DFGT's force feedback is probably most similar to a 2014 Nissan Altima. No feedback, delayed/weak centering, and light enough to throw the steering from lock to lock.

My biggest problem currently is that it wiggles around when Force Feedback is on and i have tried nearly all that is in the wheel setup of the wiki

I have a G920 and find it to be great. I haven’t tried anything else so I might not be so reliable.

Finally set up my website to a standard that I like: http://ajb-tech.co.uk/

Using AJAX to transition smoothly between pages as opposed to changing location and triggering a background reload - dark backgrounds briefly flickering to white always irk me. Also got a nice open source gallery library which I customised to my liking for my photography/game pic "portfolio".
