New post in development media https://www.beamng.com/threads/development-media.24313/page-4#post-1183947 Even if I don't know what torque vectoring is, the powertrain seems to do nice things so that's cool (awd drift cool yeee)
Torque vectoring is when you use differentials (3 in this situation, one between the 2 front wheels, one between the 2 rear wheels and one between the front wheels and the rear wheels) to apply more torque to a specific wheel. By giving more torque to a wheel, you can help reduce slip when turning. In this case, the torque vectoring function has been push to it's limits to help the vehicle drift. I'm not an expert, any correction is welcome.
id hope the bolide gets a better side scoop like one that resembles the testarossa or the 288 gto. the current one is just some fins on the side. with the 288 one i mean the one that sits behinds the rear side windows
I'd doubt the devs changing up the design that much for a remaster. I mean, they could include it, but I'm not sure how much they're willing to change
most people think that the current design is very bland and outdated detail wise. i don't mind a complete overhaul
As I've mentioned a couple of times in the Bolide thread, I think the best route for any major design changes would be to take the "sensible original car with overstyled facelifts" approach that a fair number of Italian cars of this era had. It would introduce another IRL styling trend in game, keep the understated Bolide styling that many people like, and introduce customization options.
the thing is, the bolide already has the 3 vents on the black B-pillar, (but they might be fake) and the shape of the C pillar doesn't lend itself to having the window drop into it. my suggestion would be to keep the existing layout for prefacelifts, but for facelift versions (or maybe the 390 GTR, etc.), the whole B pillar and rear quarter window get replaced by a big scoop, countach style.
I may be wrong, but the Bolide always seemed like a more entry level supercar, less Countach, more Jalpa, or in the case of Ferrari, less Testarossa, more 308/328. It has a V8, like many of the eras entry level supercars, so I like the more understated design, although I would like the option of a few design tweaks inspired by the theoretical larger Civetta, like a big wing or some silly vents. I think going too bombastic would spoil what I think is a really pretty design, almost timeless, if one can describe an '80s supercar that way.
For me, the Bolide's design is overall pretty and somewhat elegant, but it is kinda bland, especially on the sides. Little details like vents to spice things up would be nice, and maybe a widebody for either racing/custom variants like this: (Yes, on phone right now haha, quick lil' edit right there.) I also think the Bolide is an entry-level supercar, hence it's bland nature. So, over-the-top options wouldn't really fit the Bolide.
crappy example cause i couldnt be bohthered but you get the idea (i couldn't be bothered to make a better example)
It need vents on hood (like Miura for example). There is no airflow for front radiator. Similar with engine. There are vents behind the door window but I think this is more likely for cabin.
Personally I'm going to agree with @CaptainZoll here that they'll probably keep the subdued original design and possibly make a facelift(?). That's just my hopes tho
I like the idea of it starting out as bland and over the years gaining vents and wider fenders and wings etc. Like the Countach First version of the Countach Vs the Last year was a huge change
to summarise so far: Likely: van content update- (vanbus, passenger van, kentarch truckvan thing, pre/post facelift?) 80's pessima new race/rally skins- some kind of overhaul? torque vectoring- vivace tweaks, SBR drivemode overhaul? new bias ply tire models pickup crawler -(hereby named "the Doppler" by me) port/industrial revamp - merged? vehicle material optimisations (see develpoment media) camera position cuts in path tool updated waypoint model/textures possible: WCUSA optimisation Woliad Sendover Bolide-Chassis structure revamp, content update? more roamer content? JRI Remaster Unlikely: Career mode V3 UI DRI Remaster D series tow truck (+ropeables) audio ray tracing audio sample template system pigeon remaster (pls debs, i giv u monies)
I see the D-series tow truck has fallen completely off the radar. I really wish we knew more about the 'ropables' the team is trying to develop.
So that equates to a new car announcement every year (as new cars are added pretty much every two major updates)
