I'm currently working on redoing this outdated and seemingly abandoned mod. I will eventually make my own body parts so I can release this as my own, but for now I will be fixing this mod and improving it to try and make an exact replica like my own (see profile picture). I will post updates on this thread as I go. I've already fixed the suspension as I made my own that fits well with the scale. I will not release until everything is perfect and all the objects are remade by myself or by getting permission from the original creator.
I've started with the dashboard and gauge cluster as that was the easiest thing I wanted to tackle first. It's in km/h as thats what my truck is in there is still work to do but this is a good baseline to start with. I hope to post updates as much as I can.
Update: Figured I'd try and tackle the 22RE. Of coarse I can't ran all these vacuum hoses like this; However, I'm trying to do as many as I can before I burn myself out... The engine block and intake was easy as I had already made one for my Pickup Mod, so I was able to just use that. It's still in its early stages so its pretty basic, but will get improved. After this I plan on working on the interior more.
Hi STERFRY, Glad to see you're working on this. Based on your pfp, you seem to have a Toyota pickup, but a newer one than the original. I have an exact same Toyota pickup as the original mod, so please feel free to message me if you need sounds/lights/pictures of the Toyota pickup. Since we can't send files (thus pics), you can also contact me through discord. You can find me through my discord server in my signature. Let me know! Good luck Edit: oh yeah, forgot to mention it's 100% stock and is a 5 speed manual besides a replaced gasket (i only know this repair as it was just a few weeks ago, don't remember before then, this was my grandfather's truck) It's the top trim (i think) with power mirrors windows all that fyi
Thanks I appreciate the offer! It is a 1994 pickup xtracab with a 5sp 22re, same as yours and the mod. It just looks different because in 93ish they updated the grille to separate it from the 4runner.
Yes, of course, just DM is you ever need. Correction i forgot to mention: mine has a v6. I say "mine" but it technically isn't, I've just been driving it around for the past few months. It's the workhorse in my family lol, everyone uses it. It's pretty terrifying/thrilling to drive on the highway with a numb steering wheel with a lot of dead movement if you know what i mean and the side mirror panel is flopping lol. I don't own a car myself yet, I'm saving for one and waiting for good timing. Here's a pic:
Nice! I have the 4WD version I bought for cheap as a high school vehicle, plenty of play in the wheel too ... wonder if I can implement that into the mod... Here's some pictures!
That's sharp, hmm, very jealous. I've got a thing for stock vehicles lol, but that's nice af. I would get a cheap, older car, but Los Angeles drivers are too crazy I don't feel safe in any pre-2010 or something car. My parents too, they are not letting me buying anything but a recent car. And I agree with that lol, too crazy. Also, how did you texture the gauges? Also did you use the actual vehicle to source textures? Or used a website. I need to figure out how to texture the interior on my mod ;-;
ah! The gauge cluster... took forever but I traced it off a picture I took of mine using paint.net. Texturing can take a while, I usually start off with tracing reference photos, then colouring and adding details. If you need help with textures I'd be happy to help too! Also lol I love ur pfp.
Thanks for the many notes! Very clear and i understand. I'm off to sleep for now, look forward to checking the forums tomorrow. It'll be a while til i start textures, since i am going to move forward to jbeam soon enough : )
As of right now, I'm using the assets as references, I plan on remaking my own. If I do end up wanting to use the original assets I'll ask.
I really hope that steering wheel is in game lol. Good mod. I love this car. Finally (when it's done don't worry) I can test it's durability
Been a while since the last update, I've been playing way to much Titanfall 2 now that it's on steam. Anyways, I tried to make a factory radio and climate controls. I'll probably adjust the knobs as they look 'off'. Underneath the radio will just be a tray, will make later.
So are you also retexturing the gauges and making a metric version of them? Cause I can see the speedometer looks different and also is in km/h
Ah okay. That would be good for the players in the US to have an imperal version of that. Also, I actually downloaded that toyota mod, and it still works for the most part. It drives and crashes okay, but I can't wait to see how you improve it.
