as the title says what is the most balls to the walls rig you ran beamng on ? this includes stuff in the AMD EPYC tiers. and really high core count systems. how many cars did ya manage to run? did ya end up getting single core performance limited at some point? highest for me must have been round 18 non ai driven cars? Total would be 10 ai driven cars for me on a dual socket xeon x5675
Windows 98 Gateway PC, hard as hell to get beam on there. Edit: I got one car on grid small pure at 7fps, but at least the game ran
I daily a 24 core system (well... 12 core/24 hyperthreaded) Its a 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 2X 6 Core Xeon X5670 2.93 GHz 32Gb Ram NVidia GTX1070 2Tb SSD + 2Tb Hard drive I pretty much never see frame rates below 60fps unless I have more than about 20 cars on screen. The most I ever tried was 64 cars, but that was quite a few game updates ago... probably could do even more now... but my graphics card really couldn't keep up with all the cars being rendered. Even with the physics paused it wouldn't go above 10fps.
My specs: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8 cores, 16 thread, usually runs at 4.2 GHz) 32 GB 3000 MHZ DDR4 AMD Radeon RX 5700XT I have not tried pushing limits of car counts, but I basically never go below 60 fps unless there's errors or something. I run the game at 4K fullscreen (seriously, the gauges look a LOT better in 4K vs 1080p).
3 Cars, then my laptop will went nuts. Lags for a while, then BSOD will popped up and saying "video scheduler has encountered an unexpected fatal error." So to avoid that nightmare, I just spawn 2 cars. (Or 1.)
My best rig is my current laptop, i5-9300h, nvidia geforce gtx 1650, 16 gig of ram, and its an msi gf63 thin 9sc. i can run 6 cars without lag. still is a huge improvment over my last one, an hp laptop that i couldnt even go to west coast usa on.
Hey! Thales are my specs! I have that same laptop! I also wanna try to run BeamNG on my DSi, seems easy enough.
AMD Ryzen 3950x (16 cores) Butter smooth at 8 (ai controlled) cars, but I haven't tried going further
How's that 3950x doing temp wise? I heard they can get hot under load and I'm considering getting one as an upgrade over my 3700X.
