I need to free up space and I'm wondering if it is ok to delete old cache folders.

What do you mean by “old?”

In the beam files, there are files marked that have the name cache with the update. ie: cache.0.18.4.6 or something.

If you're talking about the folders that are created when you backup your cache from previous versions of the game, I would believe its fine to do so. I haven't done this personally, but I'm sure others have.

I would say it’s fine to do so too, just don’t delete ones that are from 0.19

Yes. Its totally fine to delete those. If you delete the cache folder of the current version the game will just generate a new cache folder.

Perfectly fine to delete, delete all the way up to the latest game version's folder, you will free up plenty of storage. By deleting the current game version's folder, you are doing the same process as the "clear cache" function does on the launcher, and its faster ;). If you do accidentally delete your current game version's cache folder, there is no damage done at all, you will just have slower loading of maps and vehicles for the first time they are loaded, exactly the same way as how it behaves when a new game update is released and a new cache folder is generated. Another trick for vehicle/map modders is to individually delete the specific folder inside the current game version's cache folder, this saves a lot of time and doesn't result in slower loading times for everything else that didnt need the cache cleared.
