You people are lucky. My internet's dead so I have to use DIAL-UP! don't worry though, only 13 days and 4 hours left! (btw I am downloading at a speed of 00.02 kb/s)

 

How can this p2p thing be so slow, are there no proper seeders like there are with torrents? I am downloading with 50 kilobytes/s and uploading with 250, while with torrents I normally get around 3500 both up and down

 

Devs, why didn't you use something normal instead of torrents, like for example Amazon Cloud CDN? This update is a big fuck up.

 

Torrents are "normal" for distributing updates, and content delivery networks cost money.

I had it going, slowly, but at least going. Had to reboot and brought it back up. Now when I launch, it throws back an error. Last line of the log contains this...

torrent_error| temporary ERROR: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

Not freaking out, I know the download is a bit bumpy right now, but just wanted to toss this out there in the event that there is something I might be able to correct on my side.

 

I seem to remember that being asked in the updater alpha thread. It's normal, just means that a connection to a particular peer failed.

 

20kb/s, slow but steady!

It went too 900MB downloaded in 1 minute. Now I have to wait 6 hours xD
But never the less, still can't wait to play it!

 

Thanks, I figured it was due to the high demand. Nadeox1 is right though, this isnt a AAA title and the guys are doing the best with what resources they have right now. Everyone needs to cut them some slack.

I dont mind waiting. Not like I dont have enough to keep me occupied with the Steam sale going on, but Ive been looking forward to this update more than the sales right now.

Is it downloading sequentially for everyone? I can't see why it is using so little of my upload potential (less then 3%), does everyone have the same 19% that I have?

 

The seeding doesn't even use 10% of my available upload.

 

Yeah :-(

 

1) The updater will resume from where it left off in the event you shut it.
2) The download rates will eventually pick up as people successfully update
3) Leave your computer on overnight or something like many other people do, you don't have to watch over it like a hawk
4) Get your head out of your god damn entitled ass and quit your jibberjabbering

 

Mine got to 62% and stayed there, I waited about 2 hours and then decided it would be a good idea to restart it, don't do that. The thing now wont even launch.
