Hello, while pirating is less then the old days of beamng, The Tech demo is way to old,

My idea is a free trail, Like stream records hours so how about 5/10 hours free to see if the game is for you.

Game files will have a passwords so hackers cant bypass it easy. * like its better/easy just to buy it )

I hope this is a good idea. :)

IIRC, there isn't any protection at all. You can simply drag the game files over to another computer and start it without steam, which is I'm guessing why you suggested this to begin with. I'd like to see better anti piracy measures but it's pretty much inevitable nowadays to prevent piracy without disgusting and intrusive DRM.

the thing is, the game is able to detect that it's an unlicensed copy, as it's able to change the main menu background to the pirate ship art, (and iirc also adds a "please purchase the game" passive request).
I'd imagine that their passive measures against piracy are somewhat modelled after that of winrar's 40-day-trial, explained here:

-note that in winrar's case, they also have a certain revenue stream from businesses, which isn't really relevant to beamng, but the rest still stands.

add to that the general struggles of piracy- having to find a copy of the game after every update, risking against malware, etc.
I guess the evs see that as enough incentive for most people to buy it at some point.

Oh wow, interesting to know that it does that. It's been awhile since I've kept up with any of the piracy measures. Either way, I don't think that the passive measure would do much to curb any sort of piracy. People really don't care these days.

I'll be damned though. I like this menu screen more than the current menu screen slideshow.

i think the level of piracy detection they have now is fine. anti-piracy measures rarely do anything to prevent piracy and usually are more of a burden on the people who legally bought the game.
most people who pirate something have no intention of ever purchasing it, and in the cases of those who do you usually hear they pirated it to either use it as a demo or bc they didn't have the money to afford it until later

yeah, I watch pirated movies and tv shows, but I don’t plan on paying for anything other than a Netflix subscription.

I’m not paying for another subscription just to watch The Office. Screw NBC.
