Pre Race Update Download time

I looked around a bit on the forums and didn't see anyone with the same issue.
Normally downloads for me are 1-2 mb/s however with the update it's like crawling at 10-15 kb/s. Sometimes it will jump up to 50 kb/s but for now I've only downloaded 10% after about 2 hours.

Anyone else experiencing very slow downloads?

And before anyone asks, yes I have the firewall exceptions for this app, yes my Anti-virus has the app whitelisted, and yes NOTHING else is running in the background save for Steam which isn't downloading anything right now.

Could this be a server issue or maybe I'm forgetting something?

I apologize if there's something already said about this and thanks in advance!

edit: just as I had posted this the download rate spiked to 200 kb/s. Whoo! now were screamin' along! /joke

every single thread referring to the new update is clogged with posts referring to this issue, you clearly did not look around at all

 

I wouldn't say "clogged" but I suppose I didn't look hard enough. I digress, we're all having such a fun time waiting on this excellent game to update.

sadly not as I cannot even get the updater to start, server is so overloaded that I cant connect

This is the whole damn problem. New and "improved" updater is kinda broken as in most cases it doesnt even try to download from other users. Its just putting more strain on main server.

 

The "old" style was good enough why'd they have to go and change it D:?
