Like with most of the posters currently clogging the questions and support section, I am having a fair deal of trouble downloading the pre-race update. I managed to get the updater to start downloading, and it ran well for a few hours (getting up to 3%). Then it failed and quit.

Now, in attempting to start the updater again, I get these three messages in sequence:

    PreRaceError_1.png
    PreRaceError_2.png
    PreRaceError_3.png

I fully understand that the BeamNG servers are straining under the weight of a legion of excited users (I saw that last message a good couple of times before I got to 3%), but that shouldn't change the program's compatibility, let alone the updater's. And just for the record, my machine isn't ancient. Old, perhaps, but not ancient.

Just press OK, it will work anyway. It's a bug with this new updater.

Your updater download is corrupt, redownload it and unzip it with a half decent file archiver (7-zip). It is not a 16 bit application, it is 32 bit so should run fine on 64 bit windows.

Don't know why we couldn't use the old updater that worked perfectly. They always have to ruin something...

14 hours to download 3mb...

Yeah, I figured it may be that. I deleted the original, downloaded and unzipped a new one, and started a new download. Strangely, though, the download starts at 14%.

The updater tries to run the .exe's (launcher and beamng) regardless of whether or not they're finished when you start it. That was windows telling you that the half-downloaded .exes can't be run, the updater itself is fine.
