previously i built my old pc,a MSI MS-7258 made in 2006.The motherboard was so bad that it refused a little bit of everything:HDD,SSD,CPU,RAM AND GPUS.It was paired with a core2 duo e4600 overclocked at 2.9Ghz and it would crash so much even on stock clocks

the worst system I built was a core 2 duo e7500 it was horribly unstable at everything. I forgot the motherboard but it only supported 4 gigs of ram and it's graphics card was a ddr4 gt1030. It was my first build ever. I ended up scraping the whole system and then for a company I helped.(I didn't work for them but I helped them because my friend worked there) I built a system with a Ryzen 2600 with 16 gigs of ram a ASUS ROG STRIXBb450 motherboard and a RX 570 8 gig.

An old hp office pc that I kinda built, was assembled from the beginning but I added more RAM (up to 8 gigs from four) and added a GT 1030 and went. CPU was an AMD Phenom II X4 B95.

It definitely wasn't amazing but it was infinitely better than some of the other stories I've seen on the BeamNG forums:D

Yeah, I've built my fair share of systems. My worst would easily be between the first system I ever built and one of my more recently built little test systems.

My first ever system I built was an FX-6100, 8GB of DDR3, 500GB drive, Radeon HD7850, an ASRock 970 Extreme 3 (FUCK that motherboard in particular), and a 500W Cooler Master power supply. It was incredibly unstable, ran hot, constantly crashed, and killed more motherboards than a fat guy kills tacos. Oh, and best of all? It didn't even run BeamNG all that well. That's what I built the system for. BeamNG came out literally 3 months after I built the rig, and by that time, I'd been through 2 ASRock motherboards. Stupid AMD FX processor. If you weren't running virtual machines in Linux, they were pretty god damn hopeless.

That's tied with a little HTPC I built for myself. I live at home, and in my room I have a 40" Samsung 1080p TV. Well, in my mind, if you want anything done, build a PC to do it. I wanted a smart device I could watch movies with my girlfriend, play music, watch TV, play video games, game emulation, etc. etc. So I scrounged up a little but of cash and put together a system with an AMD Athlon 5350 (early-mid 2010's AMD, seeing a trend?), 8GB DDR3, a 120GB SSD, and a 1TB hard drive coupled with an RX 550 and a 350W Seasonic PSU. The thing. Fucking. Sucked. Hardcore. That damn Jaguar-based AMD laptop CPU in disguise bottlenecked an RX 550 so hard that I couldn't even play games from the late 2000's properly at 720p, let alone 1080p. It did have a redeeming feature, though. It used zero power and was quiet af. Those Jaguar-based CPUs can run passively cooled with enough case ventilation. Ever wondered hy the Xbone/PS4 could never do 1080p/60? They use Jaguar-based CPU's too! The CPU is slow damn slow it bottlenecks the GPU in the consoles.

My best systems are on two completely different ends of the spectrum. One of them is my current system: Athena (see description). It's my most expensive, fastest, most stable, and most powerful system I've ever had. And it better fucking be for $4000. The custom watercooling alone was almost $1000. It's my baby and I'm set to upgrade to better fans and hardline tubing before the year is out.

My best overall is a weird one. My grandfather's laptop gave up on him about 5 years ago. I put together a system out of some spare parts I had plus a brand new CPU, motherboard, and RAM. The system is an Intel Core i3-6100, 8GB DDR4, 240GB SSD, a Gigabyte mATX board, NZXT S340 case, a power supply of some description (hey, it's been very reliable), and a GTX 285... for some reason. I had the 285 laying around and he wanted it to look cool, so. Long story short, it's been running 24/7 for 5 years and not a single damn thing has gone wrong to it. Not one. Insane. I never expected it to be as resilient as it has been.

nVidia GeForce Rtx 3090ti(when it comes out dum dum)
    Msi Z390 A-PRO motherboard
Whatever PSU is compatible with the 3090

You do realize I’m not switching to AMD.
I really don’t like AMD, it’s because I’ve only owned intel systems(I have used many AMD PC’s though), and they just feel smoother and nicer. So I’m team blue and team green(Nvidia)

If you wanted old technology, might I recommend a Pentium III? They're the same architecture underneath.

Doesn't your house have heat? Why are you needing a space heater then?

    I didn't know you were anti-consumer.

Sure as hell hope you have a chiller! You know that even Intel uses one at shows! and then doesn't tell anybody

That's okay. I suppose some of us here would rather light money on fire. Don't worry, though. Your 10900K will do that for you!

OH, almost forgot! You have to plug in BOTH the 8 pin and 4 pin CPU power connectors! I don't know how they did it, but Intel somehow managed to make a 10 core CPU that uses more power, out puts more heat, and is SLOWER in both single and multi-core than a 64 core AMD.

Overclocking? Find a board with dual 8-pin EPS! That connector is good for only 235W, after all. I can and have run a 12-core AMD on just the 4-pin CPU power connector, which is good for 155W. Hilarious.

I'd rather have an FX-8370. At least one of those holds a world record.

There is no need to resort to personal attacks just because you have different opinions. Keep it civil.

If you are going to get a i9 10900K you have to use a motherboard with the Z490 chipset.

Objectively, there is absolutely no reason why you’d buy Intel over AMD in 2020. They’re expensive, run hot, and god help you if you try to overclock, In all honesty, your justification for buying Intel makes no sense. Newer AMD chips are just as stable and just as “smooth” as Intel, if not more so.
We’re not trying to be mean to you. We want you to make smart decisions with your cash.
I still have a soft spot for Intel, but I would never build a system with them.
You’ve got to accept that the the old Intel is no more, and that AMD is absolutely crushing it.

Worst system was when i put a terrible little e-machines SFF PC into a Thermaltake Tai Chi Case with an nvidia GT520 graphics card and a very suspect chinese made power supply. The Case was so empty.

    Specs:
AMD Athlon 170u CPU (Single Core 2.0GHz)
    4GB DDR3 Ram
    nvidia GT520 1GB Graphics Card
    WD Blue 320GB HDD
    "500W" Chinese Power Supply

    This was back in 2012

    09032012043.jpg 09032012044.jpg 17012012029.jpg

I then built a good PC out of it soon after, with an AMD FX-4100, 8GB RAM, GTX550Ti and a quality 750w PSU.

    29042012055.jpg

Now i've given up building PC's and just run an SFF Dell that's in my signature. Does well for what it is.
