FIXED: Pre-race Updater Not Working -UPDATE 6/25/2014

I downloaded the pre-race updater from the update page and it crashes on execution. It doesn't load at all. Any help?

tdev just posted on here to go back to http://www.beamng.com/live and try that. I'm in the process of downloading it right now, although it appears to be taking an unusual amount of time for such a small file... Maybe that correlates into it working? I'll report back tomorrow on my findings. Thank you, tdev, for the quick response!

FIXED 6/25/2014
The problem I was encountering was not due to the server, but in fact due to my anti-virus software. My software (Norton Internet) was blocking all outgoing non-web browsing traffic, therefore blocking not only the updater but all online-based gaming. Once I disabled Norton's Smart Firewall, the updater immediately connected and started updating. So, if you're still having issues updating, check your anti-virus software.

It shouldn't freeze on load though. At least show that it's attempting to download. I just get bleh...

you'll probably still end up with it quicker if you try again later, mine seemed to start at 62% and not got any further in ages. I expect a long wait.

that's weird mine starts at 62% so why are some starting at 0

Because they put the game in a fresh install location, so it isn't reusing any files.

Not yet. The blueprints refuse to line up so when I keep switching views the vertices don't line up. If you're willing to help, you're welcome to it

Im getting a fatal error, it says email Beamng.... I don't think that has anything to do with all the people downloading. I even tried to download just now and still got the same error, even though i tried downloading it hours ago.

anyone solved this problem? for me is still impossible to update.. there is almost 4 thread about people that can't dowload that update, a word from a dev maybe can help

Same problem, I get a fatal Error saying that the updater is not currently able to update the software. Please helf dev!!!!

my updater says at 6% its not compatible with 64 bit but its still downloading the objects and cars, but so slowly that I can go to the city, eat a haburger , go back , and it loads 2%

My updater doesn't even load. It just freezes. I'm running 64-bit Windows 8.1 on a Toshiba Satellite with power to spare. I tried running it as an admin but it still freezes on me and I can't get compatibility options to work.
