Last night, after many, many tries, I got the updater to work. My speeds averaged around 30-40 kb/s and sometimes would shoot up to over 100 for a little while. No complaints there. I'm fine with waiting , as long as it's actually doing something. So I went to bed, got up today and my download was finished. YEY. So I fired it up, and these are my first thoughts: -Traction code is vastly improved -Loving the new ui -The cars seem a lot slower, anyone else thinking this? -fps is miles better, settings on high on small island and was actually playable. -collision seems better All in all, I am very happy with this update. You guys did great. Oh, and I'm seeding for all you people out there still trying to download it. Says I've seeded over 3 gigs.
Looked in the updater log, forwarding ports 4433 and 8700 does indeed speed up the download a lot. Was at 20kb/s. Now: I forwarded both UDP and TCP, cause I wasnt sure which one it used.
Glad you finally got it. Thanks for seeding for everyone else! (I've noticed the traction/suspension code the most too) Noob, get on my seeding level! 21GB
Is the kosshing noise intentional on small island? It is very annoying because I can hear it everywhere on the map. It just overpowers the car engine sound everywhere. Nevermind, I just reduced the soundlevel of it by 15 decibels and now it is good. I also miss the old full-manual mode for every car, any way to enable it again?
Yes and no... On the cars that have a manual gearbox(like the Covet and Bolide) you press Q(to change transmission mode) once or twice and it goes into full manual. However it has been disabled that you could manual-shift an automatic gearbox(since you can't do that in real life). Cars like the Grand Marshal in it's default trim spawn with an automatic 4-speed gearbox and if you press Q on those cars, it switches to realistic automatic gearbox, with PRND21 gears. Same with the Moonhawk, D-15, probably some others. I believe on the Marshal, the Custom set-up comes with a 5-speed manual, and I think the D-15 and Moonhawk have something similar.
I get only a 1 FPS difference with the physics. But i like the new look of the update and the ishubu covet is fun to drive around in along with all of the new options. But please do make the frame rate better in the full race update because i get only 22 FPS at best with 3 cars, and i do have quite a decent computer to run GTA 5 on ultra graphics settings at 50 FPS! (you can see my PC specs on my beamNG profile)
Ok, didn't notice that the second gear mode is PRND21. Is there a gui to show it? Haven't really been testing...
