As in here at the bottom 5 lines are the two exhaust smoke nodes and you can delete one of them like this:

Wow, thanks! I'll definitely implement this and give you a shoutout when I release it on the repo! (apologies in advance if I forget tho, just remind me if that's the case lol)

Just one thing: Which pair of lines correspond to which exhaust? Like, say I want to make it so that there's only a right side exhaust out of which exhaust smoke comes, should I delete the "exh10" or "exh11" part?

I think it should be 11 because last time I was doing something with it, I found that 11 is the right one.

Or else if I'm wrong, you can change / play around with those numbers and see which smoke node moves. You can test it out by accelerate in N gear and see where smoke comes out.

My great uncle had a bare bones Plymouth equivalent of a Suburban. Instead of a clock it had a picture of the Mayflower, and a shiny chrome grate where the radio went as well as a chrome cover for where the lighter would go. It had ashtrays, those were standard haha. No passenger visor, simple 3 on the tree

the name "suit" is good. "An Average Car for an Average Businessman" I would name it something like "The Burnside Promedio" which means average in Spanish.

 

I don't think that Burnide, and by extension Gavril, would like to remind the buyer that they got a base trim car, and the public that they produce something not "fnacy". For example look at Plymouth, they called the base model cars "cranbrook", "plaza" and "savoy", even thought they were bare bones fleet cars that as well built as they are prestigeous (not very...). Using a latin drived name like "riviera" definetly is a good, and plausible, idea

i did read the op, but even mid-low trim cars of the era had facy sounding names, i was saying that the name suggested by @FlippyJimJams goes in the complete opposite direction of the style, and society of the era. the op itself says that the lack of orpels in the car was ultimately it's downfall. Some cars in the 50s tried downsizeing, but failed, like the Kaiser Henry J or the Nash metropolitan (which incidentally sold more in europe than in america itself). in my post i was only saying what low-mid trim car names were in the 50s, referencing chrysler as the burnside reminds me of a '53 desoto

 

Oh ok its just that it would be a total pain in the ass to redo the lettering, because for "Suit", it's just the t which I have to make myself lol, also gonna post a progress update soon

Lmk what y'all think about the new radio speakers, I figured that 2 teensy weensy speakers is arguably crappier than one big speaker underneath

I liked that idea, thanks! I attempted to make the seats look cloth-y (or at least poorer looking) , but idk about what I've got currently going on so guys pls lmk if u dig the new seats or if they're too much uglier than the previous one.

I'd love to make them actually look like fabric lmao, buuuuut I don't have any .dds file to map it to with cloth! If someone could help me out with that, that'd be great!

Also, the pedals and handbrake are still rotated for no reason, but they're straight as a whistle in the .dae model, and even rotating them in the opposite direction doesn't do anything! This is the most glaring issue as of right now - please, somebody HALPP

 

I do like them, at first glance it looks like air conditioning vents but a second look reveals that they are the speakers( I do like to think that the higher ups at Gavril/Burnside decided to go with speakers found on the at the time relatively new transistor radio(first appeared in 1954, one year prior to the suit) so it gave me a little chuckle.

 

I dig the Suit name, mine was just a guideline in case you wanted other names, not some sort of imposition. I like the funky looking upholstery, in the 50s they did those wierd things. the whole "gimmick" of the Kaiser dragon, for example, was that the seats are made from dragon leather (a wierd mix between velour and paper) and the door pannels were made out of "bambu" (spelled like that, i'm not even joking). Off the top of my head i can think of the lada car pack, one of those cars (i think the 2106) has a full cloth interior, but you would need to ask @Nekkit . also the Auriga Heron has some kind of wierd interior material, if you can get hold of the files, i sadly lost them a few months ago. Also, that pannel under the dash looks like a perfect spot to install some aftermarket air-con or under-dash, usually powered by kerosene, heater.

 

i think its a cool idea but it definitely needs more work becuase all it is so far is a shortened burnside
also you might want to edit the uv so the part you shortened doesn't make skins look weird:

I indeed like that idea, and tho I know how to remap UVs, how can I make a totally new UV map for the skins, preferably without loads of work?

Great idea! But sadly, I'm not nearly inept enough at modeling to make a custom engine (this mod is my first foray into blender like, ever lol)

 

My uncle's Plymouth suburban had a flathead 6, the nice models had a small v8

 

What ? No Plymouth had a V8 until 1955, and if im not mistaken you said in one of your other posts was that it was a '54 model. I mean its not impossible that the last 3-4 cars had the 277 V8 stuffed into them but the flathead six would continue until 1960 so there wouldn't have been any shortage of sixes which is the most common cause for it so that idea is a stretch.
