I might be wrong, but the other threads are quite old... VR Support?

VR devices are gaining more and more users in the last months/years.

I'm not gonna lie, BeamNG would be just awesome if you devs manage to make it possible. Why?

Because I can't really find any other VR car game that allows you to drive and chill in free roaming with different kind of maps and cars. Driving with the only purpose of enjoying a view or a certain road.
(Project cars 1-2, rally and other VR games are just race sims, their purpose is not to chill but to race)

Please, consider keeping this feature in mind for the future. It would be just too awesome.

Greetings from Italy, by a very old backer!

If I recall correctly you can use VorpX but it's not the best option.

i believe there's a way to do it but from what i remember it's rather complicated.

Yeah I also read that it's a lot complicated since they should change the structure of some parts of the game. But you know, they said that two years ago, VR is becoming more and more popular

I also saw some tutorials on how to make it possible using some other sofwares but yeah, nothing is better than a native VR support

It used to be a feature they were experimenting with a LONG LONG time ago... but I think something fundamental about how the rendering for VR changed (because that was back in the Oculus Dev Kit days) which made it almost impossible to implement again.

Don't quote me on that, but that's what I seem to remember happening...

    Edit: There is also this...

I just got a rift S a few days ago, and have been thinking about this alot. I imagine they will want to flush out the base game and features, as well as optimization as said in the wiki atv quoted. Would defiantly be crazy if implemented, just finished messing in Asseto corsa.

I got mine like 6 months ago (Rift S too). I had a lot of fun playing with project cars 2.. but it's not really a "drive and chill" car game haha. Pretty hard to chill driving a 500 hp beast on a race track

Haha yeah for sure, Asseto has a mix, I would recommend looking into that game if you want because (with mods) you can get maps that are open and free roamingish, and drive non race cars. Screenshot_tw_mazda_rx7_aspec_shuto_revival_project_beta_20-7-120-14-35-25.jpg

I already tried it when I didn't have my VR and I asked for a refund :( the mods seemed to be too badly done. Maybe I might have been a bit unlucky choosing the wrong mods?
I've seen there are plenty of good mods (Like the Tokio's highway, that seem awesome) but dunno. Maybe I shall look when it comes back to sales

Ah yeah some are good some are bad. It also depends on what your looking for in mods. I play with some not perfect mods barbecue I enjoy the cars, even if they aren't always perfect,
