In regards to modding, I'm a noob. But lets say I acquire a car model, exactly how hard would it be to make it driveable in game? Perhaps I have no idea what I'm talking about, but hypothetically would I be able to take existing suspension setups from, say, an 800 series and put it on said model? Or is that not how it works? Basically I want to do the minimum, whatever it takes to make said car driveable in game (not for distribution) for the purpose of taking screenshots. How hard would something like this be? Ok so basically, the model is just the tip of the iceberg, you then need to texture jbeam and slot materials. Note that depending on the model, you can use vanilla jbeams, but only if you are using vanilla parts. If you take the suspension and put it in the car that’s just modeling, you need to jbeam and do everything said above to make it drivable. What car are you looking to make?
Well it's just a thought for now but thank you for the response. I have models from Forza Horizon 2 (and I know it'd be illegal to distribute, hence why I wouldn't be) and I was just wandering how much work it'd take to get it at least driveable in Beamng for the sole purpose of taking screenshots with it. So essentially the model is in Blender but has no textures (I mean there are texture files but they weren't cooperating). it has a rim model as well but no tire. So I was primarily wondering how much work it'd be to take the necessecitites for driving (engine, suspension transmission etc) and stick it on the model. I'm not expecting it to be easy but I'm just curious as to how viable it is for me, a noob, to attempt such a project. Oh and I've also tried doing a meshslap but that was just horrid lmao.
There’s no way to get around the jbeam and materials, untextured the car is just an orange model with NO TEXTURE all over it. You need blender(modeling), notepad(jbeaming) and gimp for the textures.
Or you could use the Node Beam Editor in the game files (utils).You'll have to save every 2 seconds tho.
