A Rocky Start Campaign Question!

I have been unable to put the Gravity Race mission into the "closed" tab. On my most recent run I exceeded the distance required but it only gave me 3rd place bronze. I have watched Youtubers do the challenge (on older versions of the game) and saw that one player passed the limit and got first place. When I play the challenge there is a "distance required" or whatever (which is not on the youtubers video btw) and on one run I got that to around 800/1000 distance but still only got 3rd place! I am very confused as to how these Youtubers did not have this distance bar/got through this challenge effortlessly. Does anyone know how to fix this or complete the mission on 1st place? In the attached files, you can see the 1st place image (which was the youtubers) and mine (which you can see is 3rd place and has a distance bar 397/1000). It still gave me a success, and my distance was couple hundred yards past the required amount, but still 3rd place. I hope the images clarify what I am asking, and I hope someone has a fix or whatever something that can help me haha. thanks!

 

ah okay thank you for the speedy reply, I suppose I could try this myself later but it would be helpful as well if another new player read this post, so will I still be able to get the Steam achievement if I don’t get gold on the level/all levels?
