just a heads up.. I ran the updater, 1.47GB download took 3hrs or so (6-9pm eastern (peak hours I imagine? )) then it seeded. anyway, when I clicked done, I got a Windows error for something (path in title bar was truncated & could not resize - I'm supposing \AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive perhaps into \alpha_prerace as well) The error was 'file already in use' & the only option was 'okay'. no trace of the update download - existing files seem to remain intact - running the updater again. dunno if this is something I did wrong, or... might could use a debug or some looking into. - Linear_z
the file in use error is a known bug we have right now that we still need to fix :-/ Look at C:\Users\ < YOUR USERNAME > \AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive\alpha_prerace The update should be in that folder.
understood.. I'll try and copy it out next completion & before I make any sudden moves. It seems once I okay the initial error, the appdata update folder disappears. So as long as it's still seeding, I should be able to grab it. I'll letcha know.. won't be tonight though. Thanks!
yes... it was upon clicking done to stop the seed that the error occurred and wiped the folder when acknowledged. After that, I remember having looked for it, found the empty \AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive\ folder - & then \alpha-prerace\ appeared inside it once the update was reinitialized. but I'm kind of tired and not 100% on the exact sequence, so I'll confirm on the next run.
oh, you're the first with this problem, let me help you. Unpack the attached files to the installation directory. That should fix it. *logging the issue as bug*
to follow up on the original post: seeding ran over night, no issues with closing it out, cannot duplicate previous scenario, everything runs fine!
