its seems like no matter what I do if I open the new editor on my map it'll work for like 5 seconds and then crash, and even if it doesn't crash, a lot of the menus will crash my game if I open them.
You likely got to many mods or one is killing the editor. If you have the fuel-stations beammp mod, try using the editor without it.
nope, even without mods it still crashes on my map, the old editor still works fine so I don't think it's an issue with mods.
I have exactly the same problem - crash after opening the new world editor on my custom map. No mods and map works fine with old editor as per Average Person - although mine always crashes, i.e. it doesn't need to be prompted by accessing a menu. Crash report submitted, fingers crossed.
I'll add that the new editor does seem to be stable on the official maps so maybe its just some weird issue with custom maps.

For anyone having this issue try updating your graphics drivers first and if that doesn't work backup all your beamng stuff and do a complete reinstall of the game.
