Hello, I'm new to the forum, and I have a problem with the "Introduction to Vehicle Creation" beamng web page.
I would like to start learning how to make vehicles for Beamng.
I followed the instructions given until I set up the "flexbodies". But when I wanted to load the vehicle into the game, it did not appear! You had to do Ctrl + b to display the structure ...
Could someone help me with this ????

I send you the .jbeam and the rest of my files.

    The path to the folder:

    C:\Users\******\Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods\unpacked\tutorial\vehicles\tutorial

So sorry for the mistakes, I am French and the translation is surely not perfect ...

Make sure the "group" under nodes matches the "group" associated to the flexbody.

That's what beam uses to know which nodes affect the position/deformation of which flexbody.

Right now all your nodes are in the "tutorial" group, while the flexbody is associated to the "tutorial_body" group.

    Thank you for your reply.

I replaced all the "tutorial_body" by "tutorial" as you told me, but still the same problem, the vehicle is not displayed ...

Wouldn't that come from the texture or the infos.json and materials.cs?

If the materials are wrong, the car will show up but with either default textures or orange "NO MATERIAL" textures, so that's not the issue.

If you check in the flexbody section:

The first "tutorial", described as "mesh" in the header, needs to match the name of the mesh in the dae file, which is "Cube.jbeam" in the file you sent.

You could make an offroad monster out of that mesh

Yes, of course, with huge tires and a good V8! But the chassis will be much too heavy.
For the moment I'm content to learn, this is the first time that I make a mod ...

    Hello,
today I have another question, maybe silly but it bothers me.
I created the texture of my wheel in Blender then I exported it in .png. And when I open it, only a black 1024x1024 image appears ...
Does anyone have an idea ??

    Hello,
I finally understood where the problem came from for my previous question.

But now that I have modeled the wheels and have them integrated into the mod, the vehicle cannot load due to an error ...

Could anyone help me please ??

It may be that I did not quite understand the explanation of Beamng on the realization of the wheels, with the "hubWheels"
