So, I decided to convert one of my favourite tracks from rFactor. I got bored of doing lots of tests on all the different configurations, so I thought I'd outsource it to you guys. It currently has 7 layouts (http://rfactor.net/web/rf1/features/lienz/ and a sort of free roam one), each a separate item in the level select menu. This will be changed when the race update is available to possibly have the free roam version as a sort of hub to access the track variations from. One known annoyance is that the guardrails will probably eat you if you touch them, and I have no motivation to learn how Blender works so you're not getting any fancy simple colmeshes any time soon. I would suggest that you try not to crash into them. Post any suggestions, improvements that can be made, and any bugs you find either in this thread or in a PM, but PLEASE search through the thread to see if the topic has already been discussed / bug already reported etc. To fix lag spikes, follow the instructions on how to remove tire tracks here: Racing-Pack-5-cars-2-maps (and also download the content if you haven't already). Code: Known bugs: Hungry guardrails Floaty green lights in free roam that I noticed just after I uploaded this and I forgot to change the level names... Code: Changelog: 0.9: Initial public release Credity stuff: ISI: Pretty much everything Me: Putting it here If you must upload this to modsiteplacething.ru, at least credit ISI, me, and put a link to this thread in the description.
Thanks for porting it over! I ran into an issue with lag tho, almost unplayable for me. My rig is pretty beefy, so i don't think its that. Hopefully its just some silly problem on my end.
Lienz Fix Anyone having issues with massive lag spikes on this map, try this: The Pike's Peak map that was released in the pre-pre-race update pack suffers from the same issue, for which there seems to be no legitimate cure other than to turn off skid-marks entirely. Other than that, this map is awesome. One of my favorite maps from rFactor was the Lienz Hillclimb, and now I can shred through it in my custom-tuned Scarab!
Love to see that someone converted a map from one of the most realistic racing simulators ever created .
Also, try reading the forum guidelines, because that comment goes against a rule directly. (Don't make posts such as "lol", or "I like")
I will try to edit the textures to be more detailed (but probably just important textures). EDIT: Also you could add anisotropic filtering because from far away textures look blurry.
That'd be great! Texture filtering was fine when I uploaded it, so I don't know what could have changed.
The mod is done. Well, its strange because for me anisotropic filtering is turned off :/. And when i change the settings, i restart the game and randomly some textures get no material glitch. Anyway signs are hungry aswell . Once ive just passed by one and it ate the trunk of my lancer . Another time i randomly crashed into it, results were horrible: But i hope there arent any serious problems with material settings reseting etc.. Ive also included a V1 of the mod
When my car starts to skid, doesn't matter which car, my fps drops to about 1-2 Fps. I have 2 - R9 270x cards in crossfirex. Anyone else experiencing this?
