If you don't already know Gabester has a Soundcloud with some pretty nice music on it which I think would be pretty sick if it was used to make a functional, realistic sounding radio in the vehicles. This radio could also allow for a user to put their own music into it or stream music off the internet like American Truck Simulator does. I don't know exactly how this would work, and I get it probably won't happen but I thought it was a cool idea.
The Satsuma 100 has a radio where you can put one large playlist-file in. Live streaming won't happen due to safety issues.
Would be nice if the sound of the audio system differed between the cars. like the sunburst gets a kind of crap sound system because it’s a cheap car, but the 800 gets a very clear and hi-if sound system because it’s a luxury car also having the audio work in surround sound would be great, because I play with 7.1
If you have ingame music enabled & go into Light Runner mode, switch to interiour camera, then you can hear the music change its sound to make it seem like it comes from the cars' speakers, so I guess it won't be hard to implement it into freeroam?
I know, just brought it up as an example of working car radio ( just for soundfiles ) And it has different sound features too such as sound nodes at the speakers and a separate subwoofer option.
I've been wanting a way to play personal music from my pc through the in-game car forever, I just think it'd be a much desirable addition. ~ as for specifics of quality that might be unnecessary.
why would you need this though. If youre driving in the car just use spotify. it would be cool if you had a mod that linked to spotify and would play music that came out of the car speakers, so if you moved away it would get quieter, and if you had a cheap car it would sound crappy, and would sound better with a more expensive car. And if you crashed it would shut off, etc.
I just use YouTube tbh. But, I have a preset on my EQ to each car that i have personally. Since i own a GM car that's in the same era as the LeGran it was easy enough to tune the EQ to sound like a 80s-90s GM Delco Stereo system. But, I guess this would be a cool add-on to the game.
@Inn0centJok3r / @Dummiesman have already made a rather good radio in their "not" Ford Focus, it just needs a) to work with Spotify and b) to come out of the car's speakers. I say Spotify because it is an actual app that most people have on their computer already, so I think it would be easier than having to connect to YouTube for example, over the web. My thought is that BeamNG could trick Spotify into thinking it has surround sound, getting that info, then rendering it to fit each person's PC setup. Maybe they could shed some insight on how easy/hard that is as they have actually coded one?
Well the code for the radio is all my own, I don’t think I’ll be adding many improvements to it however I have no clue how to even go about connecting it with other applications- essentially, the radio right now is about as good as I will get it by myself Also i‘m not sure how to make it louder inside than outside, gotta see about that eventually The radio basically was kinda just a small mess-around to see if it’ll work
