My fx-8350 at stock 4 ghz, interesting to see that its on par with some stock i7s - - - Updated - - - if it has an older intel or most amds it could be done with a nice $30 cooler.
not worth. If you're going to upgrade, get a new fm2+ motherboard http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-A88X-Bolton-Micro-Motherboard/dp/B00FU829ZQ/ref=pd_sim_pc_5 and then get the 760k http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-Pr...s&ie=UTF8&qid=1403664630&sr=1-1&keywords=760k Although since you have a dedicated gpu and are getting a cpu without a gpu, it may be better to go with am3+
An APU would be nice since I would be folding on it. (Which is what I plan to do with my current one once I get my new MSI GAMING R9 270 which will allow me to actually use the GPU part of my APU for stuff.) But, yeah. I don't have very much money, although my birthday is coming up soon. What would be the best bang for my buck for say $150? (Maybe $200 tops.) Also, I really would like to have 2 PCI-E slots for GPUs. (One would be fine if it would be cheaper though.) EDIT: Also, comparisons between that CPU and mine say that mine is slightly faster in multi-threaded stuff..
Re: BANANA Bench (Beam ANAlysis NAarrator) Results Nope, was salvaged from my old Dell inspiron 580S. Sorry for the late reply, never got a notification...
so i finally unterstood that my cpu is the bottleneck in my system and that i can improve performance by updating board, cpu and ram. Thanks!
This is on my 6 year old computer...and I can fully confirm...I HAVE THE WORST PC HERE Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3GHz
Nope you're definitely not the worst! Also just noticed, we have more than 100 results! The average Max Mbeams/s is around 44, which is about the score a stock 3570k would get.
Care to tell us what the model and clockspeed really are then? I'm assuming its an i3-3217U, 2 core 4 thread?
Ahem I am running 4 Gigs of DDR2 memory and my pc is old but it has a HD5770 card in it and the bottleneck I have is my processor... I would just love to see what this game would do on my brothers pc...with a 4770k @ 3.5GHz and 16GB DDR3 with a 4GB GTX770 card in it...I wonder what that would do... and I am looking at a 4960K Devils Canyon Processor 16GB DDR4 (Possibly if I can get it) and a 6GB GTX780 as my new setup but that depends on costs and prices and if its affordable at the time but thats something for the future to worry about
as it states in there i3-3217U which is a dual core low voltage ivy bridge chip with hyperthreading and supposedly a 1.8ghz clock speed. HD4000 GPU and 6gb of DDR3 RAM but these shouldnt impact the test so much.
