Hi, Since the 0.20 I've my autobello broken by a mod and I spent to much time to fix (When I deactivate a mod the bug was fix until the next map / game reload ). It's a very annoying problem. So, why can official content be broken so easily by a random mod ? (a wrong comment line can brake completely a car). Any fix scheduled ? Or a debugger tool for mods ? Any movement for mod intergration ?
Some of beamng’s code changed, meaning the mods are no longer compatible, it’s like trying to run Windows 98 on NTFS, it just doesn’t work.
Ouf course an old mod can't be support indefinitely, but the official content can't be broke by a new version (it's official). So why can official content be broken by an outdated mod?
because code changes and sometimes dependencies as well your question is way too vague to answer precisely.
you see, the mod basically put's it's data in the car's data(kinda), so when a mod becomes outdated, it has old code being mixed in with new code and that ultimately causes the game to have the physics break, as the old jbeams are outdated or whatever. take what lucasBE said, this question is way too vague to answer well.
That's my problem. Why mod are mixed with official content and then break it. I think it's due to a technical limitation but that's very annoying. Note: It's not a question, it's a suggestion. I'm not on bug and problem fix forum.
your question is way too vague to answer clearly, a mod will conflict with existing code and that causes the game to not understand, so it gives you an error message.
sometimes, mods replace files from the official cars, with "official content and more"... if the mod is outdated it can be replacing a official file with a mod file which contains the official content from an older version
