A very very minor bug. Traction control seem to perform worse on AWD vehicles, I found out when I was very bored and decided to play around with the rollers and tilt ramp.

The ESC logic hasn't change since Dec 2019, which cannot pass the diagonal roller test, here's an simple solution that works but still far from perfect.

May I ask, Isn't the vivance has diffent ESC/TC logic? bc the way traction control works is way much different.

Not a dev here, but the older TCS code used by the Hirochis and ETKs compares wheel speeds of diagonally opposite wheels. E.g. Front Left to Rear Right.

Hence a no go for diagonal roller tests.

The old logic does still work with milder scenarios like preventing overall driven wheel spin of 2WDs on good surfaces. Say, when dumping the clutch or neutral dropping(!) at a traffic light.

The Cherriers have the new driving dynamics system, still WIP for the rest at the moment, where the eDiff function compares the 2 outputs of the differential and brakes the faster end appropriately.

The combustion engined Cherriers should be able to pass, haven't checked if the electric versions have the code in 0.20 yet.

Yep, the sunburst isn't using the new driving dynamics, in fact only the vivace/tograc is at the moment. :)

Fun fact: what you are seeing there can actually happen in real life too, you'd be surprised how bad some "AWD" systems really are in extreme situations :D

I really love the work you put onto the FCV, their traction control are flawless!

I've seen lots, which was why I decided to poke around with ESC in BeamNG. But, what do you think of Subaru's AWD? :p

Glad to hear that, it's a really complex system, I'm happy it did end up working as well as it does :)
I've never driven any Subaru, so can't tell I'm afraid...

I have somebody's esc.lua file posted in the past forum that is edited for some of his purposes so I replace it with my current file and put ESC on the roamer. Traction Control works like a charm, it brakes slipping wheel like A-TRC or some off-road traction control. Just telling;) Oh one thing, That's help car passing roller test easily!

Well, could you please put some links to some reference article that some TCS IRL does the same that compare diagonal wheel speeds.

I read some article about Subaru AWD and the non-STI models with ACT-4 AWD system. Open front & rear differential, use individual wheel braking when loss of traction. No center diff, the front axle is solidly connected to the gearbox, the rear axle is connected via a set of multi-plate clutches. Those clutches are working is such a way that always slip, using automatic transmission fluid to lubricate. The default torque distributuon is 60:40 with normal driving, 50:50 with loss of traction, up to 90:10 with cruising.

Take a look at some research papers from the early nineties, it was the common thing to do :)

It would be great if ESC works in reverse.:)
