Most of the current car mods for BeamNG are from the 1900's? I haven't seen many cars, besides a few community, that are from 2000 onward. In RoR we had the modern gavrils which were nice. In BeamNG we have cars based back before the turn of the century. Will there be any modern cars? (Besides community)
There are plenty of cars in the making from Gabester. Just take a look at the official showroom. Also, the van seems like it was made around early 2000s.
If I had to guess, I'd say the reason why is because the team was focusing more on perfecting the engine and physics than the cars design.
I think somewhere awhile back gabester said he was fascinated by the late 1900s car designs, and thats why there are so many older cars. This was a long time ago so don't quote me or anything.
To me the best time periods for car design were 1985-1995 and 1945-1955. That's not to say I won't be making cars from other time periods, or modern cars, but I like those the best
I remember a discussion about this a few months ago. I'd have to dig through the forums to find it, but I know this was an interesting point a while back. Personally, I'm glad the devs stuck with older cars. As a 90's kid, everything today, including the automotive industry, is dead.
I like the 70;s to 80's period a lot, something like a lancia delta would be pretty cool although a little editing on the hatchback ingame atm aand you could have something similair i guess.
agreed to the last detail to me in that period though '69 was a great year for cars, the t-bird, the corvett, the charger ect really any car
I agree with Gabster in my opinion the cars from that period were the best looking (well apart from the sesto-elemento) and they had some pretty cool racing cars
Yeah, first thing I realized was the date on the first post, then 5-6 posts later its in April... -_- - IBsenoj
Late 2000's would be fun. Maybe a minivan or something like that. Obviously just to smash up. Something like this:
70's to 80's during the shoebox and sillouette racer eras are my favourites (Group B, DTM, BTCC) And then post 2004 When the aggressive styling has started to make a comback. Personally im not a huge fan of the 90's jellymold cars. they feel almost generic. (there are a few exceptions, some BMW's retained the aggressive styling, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru still produced aggressive lines in their cars. 70's-80's was also an era of over the top engineering, rally cars were hitting 500+bhp and F1 cars were achieving 1300 bhp.
I like from 1990's - today. Something about todays design and technology. I really like this Holden Prototype/concept: Old design, new technology. I like the 1990's cars like: Italdesign Scighera Mercedes CLK GTR Lamborghini Diablo Jaguar XK8 & XJ220
