I sold my mountaineer about a month ago. The buyer just sent me this picture. He had the transmission rebuilt, tinted the windows, and put some dubz on it. I'm glad he is enjoying it.
I’m going to a meet in my truck that’s across the state. I should be scared. My odometer says 391,000 miles, I’ll be fine.
@HadACoolName it says you've disabled playback on other websites. Yesterday I met up with a guy selling a 2007 Hyundai Sonata V6 for $2800 online. Car supposedly had no issues, never wrecked, and "so good!" suspension. The engine ran good, trans shifted good, cold ac, and interior was clean but besides that it was a pile of junk. The body was very beat up. It had clearly been poorly repaired after an accident in the side/rear. The edge of the trunk lid was actually rubbing on the fender and the vast repainted section of the car was indicated by heavy sun damage to the paint. The front suspension was clunking on both sides and felt like it was about to fall apart and the steering made a squawking noise. I'm looking for a <$2k FWD car with a v6 and solid enough suspension and body structure to fling sideways and backwards at highway speeds. I feel like I'm looking for a needle in a haystack.
Have you looked at any W-Body GMs yet? The 3800 is a great motor and the second gen W-Body had fully independent suspension. If you don't mind the old feeling interiors, they are great cars. Good luck with your search.
Maybe try finding a Lexus ES? Those are cheap here and are typically well maintained. Camrys are ok but you can't find them for cheap in good condition anymore due to their reputation. Acura Legends are often forgotten about and are really cool imo. One of my teachers had a Galant as a beater. It had the 2.4 but it was a really good car and is still driving around with nothing more than regular maintenance iirc.
I like the Lexus ES and Acura Legend I wouldn't rule those out. I've always enjoyed the looks of the 8th gen Galant as well but I haven't looked into them much. I've been looking at XV30 Camrys, as they are the all-time best hajwala car. They are expensive and maybe a bit bigger than what I'm looking for.
Best first car for a 17yr old in the UK? looking for something from £500 to £1500max. Not sure what there is out there.
Insurance tho, cheap cars for insurance mostly have 1.0L to 1.2L engines> --- Post updated --- Love the focus, gonna have a look into this, best driving family hatch from what I've seen
