1. I was just teaching the dude a way to save time doing what he needs to do. His current strategy took a lot more time than it needed to.
2. Yes, the problem is solved, but he's teaching another person to take screenshots. Wouldn't you want the best for them? If they're teaching someone, would you really want them to know the overcomplicated way?
3. The dude thanked me, and the situation was days ago.
I understand the message of the picture, but in this context, you're coming off as quite passive-aggressive, and it reeks of unneeded hostility. Even snide.
If it's not hurting anyone by telling them the optimal way, then I don't get the problem.

You're the only human I am aware of on this entire plant that considers xkcd comics to be passive-aggressive in any context. Even if You are not, massive majority of people definitely don't share Your opinion and You should not assume otherwise. Alas if You look at a simple, vague post and consider it hostile, that is an assumption by nature and You need to take under consideration that it might be wrong. Unless You are one of those people that are never wrong, and never take things out of context or make wrongful assumptions and have lapses of bad judgment like the rest of us mortal peasants.

As You have already ruined the whole party and everyone left let me explain the joke. The whole idea is that we all have those things, those situations we can relate to. For instance family members asking us to help with tech stuff or having to hear how our family members have "fixed it" themselves. Not all of us can relate, but for those that do this is a funny relatable comic. We are not laughing at those people, we are laughing with them. I don't know how You go from misinterpreting the comic (which is fair and unfortunate) to me somehow being a fault for it and causing You to contextualize it negatively.

For the sake of ending this whole argument right here: I am sorry You got offended at this comic I posted. It had no gram of ill will in it and neither did it's creator. I hope You can move on in time.

xkcd is fine, he's actually pretty cool. It's just the context it was in relating to the post. That's why it's passive-aggressive.
