Hey, so somehow even after deleting the file, verifying game integrity, and downloading another Utah file and putting it ingame, it still showed up like fallout utah. any ideas?
Uninstalled and reinstalled it from Steam. Unless there's a way to completely reset the game, it didn't work.
Follow these exact steps: Unistall BeamNG from Steam Delete your BeamNG.drive User Folder (by default located in Documents/BeamNG.drive). Verify its location from Launcher > Manage User Folder > Open in Explorer. You may backup your mods first, please don't place them back until you verified the base game works fine. Delete BeamNG.Drive folder from Steam/Steamapp/common (If there is still a folder) Reinstall BeamNG If problem persists, check if it's your mods causing that. This is from the Wiki or whatever on how to do a complete reinstall. Did you follow all these steps?
wow look at that my utah is fixed im going to completely remake fallout utah nice --- Post updated --- how do i get rid of that --- Post updated --- also question: drain the river or flood the river?
Ok i'm back guys. I reinstalled windows a little while ago because 2 year old windows installs are really awful, and decided to get back into BeamNG. I still have this issue with the ghosting on some of these objects and would really appreciate some help with that.
Ghost elements are decal roads in MissionGroup > mines > other roads. Here's all 71 of them deleted. Then there is this and this (gas station bridge) decal road in MissionGroup > roads. I think that's all. Of course it's safer to delete them one by one, there might be something you want to keep.
--- Post updated --- ok i made a thing. played around with the decals, still havent figured it out entirely but i think i'll get it. my main issue right now is the guard rails over the bridge, cant move them. right now everything is basically a placeholder, i have zero clue what i'm doing so basically everything here is subject to change. if you have ideas shoot them at me here or dm me them on discord. --- Post updated --- --- Post updated ---
One way to remove all the rails is to delete these from your level's forest folder: utah_guardrail_endcap_R.forest4.json utah_guardrail1.forest4.json utah_guardrail2.forest4.json utah_guardrailpost.forest4.json There are only ten or so rails in the whole map. Easy to rebuild if needed. Those would be scavenged as scrap metal anyway...
I don't wanna leave you guys without an update so: Didnt do much of anything today, was super exhausted and not up for Beam. I did check out Itntai's folder thing. I found the stuff but they weren't deleting and I wasn't in the mood to troubleshoot lol If you guys want I may make a discord server for this. 1. i can tell you guys exactly what i'm doing as i'm doing it so you get quicker updates 2. discord is a better platform for getting quick advice and stuff for this 3. i am not a professional map maker by any means and it has been a while since i have played BeamNG so said quick advice would be very helpful so i can get this done faster and more efficiently I would still update here ofc School is coming up soon for me so development may slow a bit Sorry for not doing much today
In addition to my previous post, even though this sounds like a loading screen tip: You can use Forest Tools > Select Item to edit forest items.
Hey. So yeah, this probably isn't happening, as I'm sure you've all figured out. I still like the idea, but I don't really have the skills, time, patience, motivation... it goes on. I think if some folks really want this to happen, I will make a Discord (or if there is one that would be good for development) which I think would be enough to keep me working. I've been busy, guys. I've been getting back into Beam, so who knows. I want to be more active in the community again and see whats new. It's crazy seeing how this game has gotten so much more advanced. If you have thoughts or questions, feel free to ask. If I do restart this project, it'll be from the beginning.
