Thank you for your concern, As you can see It is only one of the many AV's out there that has flagged it. To which I do not even recognise that AV. Honestly we have no intention of applying any malicious code or other material to our work here. We built it with the intention of making MP and that we have. Now we work to improve it further and make it an ever better experience. I think i can trust in the 35,000+ people in our discord that our program and work are safe to use however i do always advise people to do their own research and investigating to ensure they too are happy with the work. If you ever want to chat about it feel free to contact me and I can answer any questions you might have.
well, I always scan everything myself on that note 1 detection really? did you scan the official beamng launcher? yeah.... take a look at the attachment. Does this make beamng a trojan? absolutely not.
I was going to try this, but >discord Fuck that. When you reconsider using anything but Discord for finding servers i'll try it. EDIT: Is this legit/from you OP? https://beamng-mp.com/
Hello, Discord is only used for usernames & banning where necessary. Nothing related to finding servers, that is down to our work entirely. We would have used Steam but we are not a game in its own right and therefore we could not get a key to use steam. Yes https://beamng-mp.com & https://beammp.com are both our domain names we just happen to have changed the domain name a little down the road that was all.
Even worse: I need Discord to use your mod. How about NO. FiveM is not a instruction manual on not how to run multiplayer mods and you literally took a page out of their manual for your mod: forcing players to use spyware-riddled apps like Discord to play their mod. 0/10, you tried OP. Too bad people who like privacy are a dying breed nowadays. EDIT: Tried it. Nah, this ain't it chief. Back to SP Beam it is.
How is discord a "spyware-riddled" piece of software? It's not. There's also no reason to be mad simply because a mod isn't up to YOUR standard. There are thousands of people who enjoy the BeamMP mod, and without Titch and the people he's working with, we wouldn't even have any CHOICE on whether or not we want to use his mod.
Well it was the best of the options we had available to us short of building our own user system and what not which would have cost more time and then the various data protection policies and what not to be in place. Discord felt like the best way since it works and covers what is likely 90% of the community . We are not forcing you to use it by any means. However I would be very interested to know what makes you suggest discord is spyware as i too do have concerns for privacy and if there is evidence to suggest discord is doing more than it should be i would really love to see it please.
It is beyond impressive how much work there must have been put into this, such an awesome and great mod even in a WIP state. Hopefully it'll get a sorting system at a point, so you can sort by number of players in a server, region etc. Too bad the online players are often toxic (At least from the times I've played, I might have been unlucky..) Also; It's really cringy to just say "dIsCoRd Is SpYwArE" without putting anything behind it to back it up (tech knowledge, sources etc.) (Here's a source to people who's interested to know what Discord knows about you)
Just what I expected, Facebook Junior I only use the web based version of Discord. On topic, I think this is an amazing project and if I was a Steam user I would have checked it out for sure. The best way I could make use of mp is hook up with a few friends on a server to have a civilized session with fun and experimenting.
Remember you should be able to claim BeamNG on steam for free if you bought it on the likes of humble bundle.
Thanks for the reminder, it's just that I don't see myself using Steam any time soon, I'm not the gamer type but more the simulating
The source for the full thing is closed, isn't it? What a shame. Discord requirement is completely ridiculous, nothing should rely on proprietary spyware from Tencent. Really would have loved to try it and maybe contribute, to at least get Linux support for myself. Even if I did install Discord and compromise my privacy, that thing uses too many resources for me to be able to run BeamNG at the same time. I think many would have the same issue.
Where is it stated that discord is owned by Tencent? They're privately owned. I can't say for sure whether or not they're collecting data on you, but I doubt they're using it in ways that Facebook, Instagram, google, or even your cell phone does. Discord is also a very light platform. It uses fewer resources than Google Chrome which is the #1 browser currently. You can't believe everything you read online, like this site: https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/discord.html Just because it's a ".org' site doesn't mean it's correct. I know I was told that in middle and high school. I also doubt they're constantly monitoring the literally millions of people around the globe using it. They likely only look into it when somebody reports you for breaking ToS
adding my two cents in, if your PC struggles to play BeamNG with just Discord open then that's really a problem with your pc

I know I was told that in middle and high school. I've just requested a package from discord that shows all of the data they explicitly say they collect in the ToS. #moosic - Discord - Gyazo It may take up to 30 days to receive, but I'll post what they sent me as long as it's nothing too personal. If it is too personal, I'll gladly tell you.
