True, but my point still stands. It’s not for sale anymore. The Prius isn’t the best car ever, but it’s a good commuter. Its drivers do ruin its reputation.
The thing about the prius that I think people forget is that it is designed for the sort of people who would consider buying it, and pretty much nobody else. The sort of person in the market for a Prius does not care about styling or prestige, but rather, practicality and overall usability. Priuses are inherently solid daily drivers. They have extremely smooth acceleration, if a little sluggish from a standstill, and rather decent handling for what they are. They are also reasonably well equipped even at base level, and are relatively comfortable. They have a huge amount of cargo space with the rear seats folded flat. Also, they're quite reliable. Admittedly, a Prius is not fast (although with that said, they are not as slow as some people assume), and they are most definitely not beautiful, but that isn't the point. People don't hate on Ferraris for being bad daily drivers, because that simply isn't the goal. Priuses aren't made for enthusiasts, but rather, for the sort of people who want a car for doing general, boring car things. If you judge it like that, the Prius is actually a rather decent car.
