Awesome! I didn't follow this thread so I was wondering is there gonna be offroad versions planned? like with a bar on front and a roll bar like the d series? (sorry if this was answered already I did not take a peek at the other pages lol)
Haha, not entirely sure! I'll consider it for later updates. Right now I'm just focussing on the initial release version, which is going to have the basic regular cab and Super cab with a 2 or 3 trims. I could send this out in a month, but I want the mod to perform really well, so I'm giving myself until the end of the year to send out the initial version.
haha, thanks. It's definitely improved over the past year, the bulk of it the better half of this year. The current model as it stands got a lot of model cleanup, primarily with the cab, both for optimization and cleanliness
It's possible. The initial release will only be a standard cab and extended cab with different trims, but i'll add more parts after that. I'll have a working jbeam tomorrow, something i can work and test with
Hi, so I've completely restarted the jbeam in the past week. So far the cab frame jbeam is fitted from an H series cab, and i'm using the d series bed as my base for the bed. Reason why i'm only using the base of it is because i'll be using duplicates of the tailgate in order for all 3 tailgates (kei trucks usually have side/rear folding tail gates) have a seperate jbeam so they can fold down like a regular tailgate. Though i need help Anyone know how to flip triangles? I know there's the key to flip triangles, but i'm not sure if i'm selecting correctly. Also what does a red node mean lol
I have ZERO experience in Jbeaming or modding (I really really really want to) but I can tell that looks col and gud.
Hi, so little update Thank you to @appesh1 for being my guide in jbeam, so far the progress is pretty good. Nbe decides to shit a lot and I'm having to redo the tailgates. Anyways, I think I'll have a complete working, definitely not perfect jbeam within the next 2-3weeks. Most of the time lost is from nbe just being an incredibly unstable piece of software, but I'll also be making edits in the txt jbeam document because some triangles aren't flipping. I would post an entire jbeam photo but opening all the jbeams seems to fuck up everything lol. Did that twice, never doing it again. I'm also slowly starting the extended cab version. I am also probably going to get a new laptop on black friday, just another cool thing. Okay, thanks for reading!
2-3 weeks is still very ambitious, there is a lot of trial and error in making a functional (functional as in it works at the bare minimum) jbeam structure, and that there still might be imperfections in the model that will cause the jbeam to not work. Just my opinion
That's true. Maybe like 2-3 weeks for a jbeam, like just A JBEAM LOL. Also I gotta fix face orientation on the model TwT. At least it isn't scattered like I was worried of.
So just the structure itself and nothing else? Because that's what I think youre saying, also it looks unusually clean for face orientation
Yea basically lol. The face orientation wont take long to fix. It's just a pain in the ass to merge vertices when needed on a model that's been shared back and forth like 6 times with different people. Just shit that happens with exporting unfortunately. I shouldnt need to merge any, but I had to when I was working on the windows/fixing some of the dashboard.
