So, everytime I launch the game and choose a map, it works perfectly fine. About 2 minutes later, my FPS level drops to 5 (keep in mind that my average FPS level is 27). When I pause the game, and rotate the camera, there are no lags, but when I unpause the game, the lags keep going. Of course after some time, they stop, but approximately 30 seconds later, they come back. I tried unistalling and installing the game again, or removing all of the mods, and nothing worked. What do I do?!
Processor: Intel Core i5-7200U CPU (I also have Intel Graphics and AMD Radeon R5 M430 RAM: 8,00 GB System: Windows 10 Home (idk if that's all you need, I couldn't find more information sorry)
Are you using Intel integrated graphics, or an AMD Radeon R5 GPU? Make sure your CPU cooler isn't too dusty, restart your computer, run malwarebytes, just general maintenence stuff. Sometimes basic maintenence things can fix a problem like this.
FPS drop after a few moments on a mobile CPU... That sounds like one hell of thermal throttling going on in your laptop. You should either try to remove any dust that has built up in the heatsink or go the more risky way & open your laptop to replace the thermal paste, as otherwise the only way to help is to get a proper PC
Sounds like thermal throttling. As others have said, do everything you can to keep the laptop temps lower. Clean dust from vents and make sure there's limited external obstructions to airflow, close any other programs, keep the laptop on a hard surface or better yet get a cooling pad, etc...
mine throttles so bad that even with aftermarket fans and a one foot desk fan on full blast next to it it still destroys my cpu and gpu, 3 times now.
Regardless of battery life concerns, many laptops automatically go into high performance mode when you start a game unless they are unplugged, in which case they default to power saving mode.
