Devils Canyon is already released - the 4790k, 4690k and whatever that unlocked pentium was.

I know they are already out I am waiting for the 8 core variant to come on the market before I rebuild my own computer and then see what an unlocked 8 core Haswell Devils Canyon will do...I think its right, I am not after an Ivy Bridge version I want the full 8 core processor to show up...I am guessing well over 100 MBeams/s+ who knows...

I am waiting for the arrival of the 5th Generation i7 Processor...to be more accurate...the 5960X processor...the so called "Haswell-E"

Want to see how a $60-70 Sandy Bridge Pentium G860 performs with Bananas? No? Well, that's too bad, because the results are below!

(Um, yeah, it kind of steps down to 1.6 Ghz when not under a load)

Imagine what this game would do running on like 6GB of memory...or more...depending on your setup...now that would be interesting to see....

Adding more memory doesnt increase performance unless you ran out of memory before. For someone describing themselves as an IT geek, should have known that.

I wonder why it drops so quickly at 8, i would have thought the drop of would be at 9 when you try and get 3 cars on a single thread

I told my motherboard to do a "fast" overclock and that is what it has been running at for a few years now.

Just told it to do an "extreme" overclock and it only went up another 100mhz but a much lower voltage. Which is odd considering others with my CPU+cooler (akasa venom) can go above 4.8ghz on it. Will probably look into it a bit more, that's much lower than i was expecting even for the automatic overclocking facility.

I may be wrong but i think the "fast" setting just grabs a 4.3ghz preset and shoves it directly to that while "extreme" actually does a bit of testing.

Also does this test vary much for others or is something odd happening here?

    EDIT:
Just ran the test again, more like what i was expecting for an extra 100mhz

Is it possible we could have a linux version of banana bench? I would love to do a rapberry pi benchmark

I have managed to get it running on just the bare minimum files in another folder. But the console.exe program that is required would prevent it from running on a linux machine.

why does the beam/s count rise on some pcs between 8 and 9 cars or later? shouldn'T it be decreasing all the time?
