I had an idea: What if there would be traffic like in forza horizon 4 (without drivatars lol)? I don't mean the current traffic that overwhelms your PC if you have 3 traffic cars, i mean simple traffic that might as well be low poly cube-ish cars. Main things are that...
    - you can enable and disable it,
    - it is generating the route it is driving with an AI
    - it is using its indicators and, if there are some, orientate themselves from traffic light and signs, eg when there
is a 50 kmph speed limit they slow down / accelerate to 50 kmph, but not like a rubberband, i mean it should
    be realistic.
    - make them switch lanes plsssssssss

that is all i need, but as i said, the high-resolution-every-node-is-rendered-each traffic is too much for most of the PCs, so pls make simple ones.

I doubt this will happen as this is a physics simulator and it’s supposed to be very realistic. Only option as of now, and probably forever, is to just get a better computer

Even if it's not realistic, we should get it anyways, since it could also be good for guys that are participating in a driving school and want to train at home.
And no one ever said that a JATO powered Bus that goes 400 mph is realistic.

    BTW i can't get a better pc because i don't have money.

    AMD Fx(tm) 6300 Six-Core Processor
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti
    some AsRock motherboard
    16 GB RAM "Ballistics" Latency=7
    ...

I still doubt it’ll happen. If it does it’ll probably just be the meshes can drive but have no physics

your pc isn’t bad, just not amazing, try and get a 1070 and you’ll be able to run a lot more traffic.

if you wanna continue talking friend me on discord, P_enta#4123

Yeah it’s really stupid but it’s some German rule cause BeamNG is based in Germany or something

A bus truck with those JATO COULD potentially reach 400 kmh.

As a woke king, I would like to point out that both guys and girls can drive ;)

Also, City Car Driving is made for that and would work a ton better than what BeamNG is gonna do.
I see what you mean, but BeamNG's goal isn't really that.

Been up acouple of times before and im all for dumb downed/simplified jbeams for simple/uglier traffic.

400mph is still feasible, you just add more jatos.

putting the effort into making low poly cars is simply not in scope. pandering to minimum hardware for a little used feature is a waste of time.

you don't need beamng's physics for driving practice, it's wasteful.

Here's a possible solution, though I have not tried it. What if you were to make or find someone to make low poly Automation cars. Automation cars are basically junk anyway, so making them without a lot of extra pieces and parts should be fairly easy, I would think. Then, spawn those in and set the AI to drive them around. Not sure how that would affect your PC performance, but worth a shot.

i think the impact of having a car vs not having a car is so much bigger than having a high detail vs having a low detail car that it wouldnt really be worth it, but its definitely something OP could try.

Can't see BeamNG implementing low-poly, just not their thing, but if you're looking for better performance, (like in forza) then they will probably optimize the system. Right now, it's barely optimized as it was before they added the automatic traffic, so no doubt. I think, honestly, multiplayer cars run better since not as much work on your cpu.

imagine thinking that the models are the main cause of lag in a physics-oriented simulation
