if you have $700 you may be able to find a msi gf63 thin 9sc on sale. I have one, it runs the game well.

well its still not for gaming. A $5000 gaming pc will still run games better than a $50000 mac pro not for gaming but for workstations and stuff.

Ah yes, if I wanna play BeamNG on the go, I have to lug around an enormous desktop. Calm down.

Can you quit talking out your ass?
An expensive "gaming" laptop isn't a good purchase if it's going to clog up with dust and die a thermal throttling death, which it almost certainly will do.
Don't recommend objectively bad products to people. Just because you've got a boner for a shitty laptop model doesn't mean you have to shove it down some poor dork's esophagus like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Bruh when has this thread devolved into another toxic argument?? Sure gaming laptops are useless for most games, especially ones as resource demanding as BeamNG, but it doesn't mean they are garbage, for example they can make pretty good study-purpose devices if your university requires you to install all kinds of programs (it isn't that uncommon now with e-learning), or you can just play simpler games on them. Or play BeamNG without any mods and without using traffic or the West Coast map.

Oh Lord what have I done...

Can we settle this? Gaming laptops can be pretty beefy, but they do require a lot of maintenance. They usually have complex thermal designs, again needing maintenance. Despite this, they are perfectly fine for if you want to game on an airplane or simply can’t get to a desktop. I do not want to continue this argument, and I regret recommending a product. There. Done.

Imo they're not a waste, but for $700 you can't get a rig much better. If you have a bigger budget, definitely go for a desktop. But for lower budgets laptops are better.

WHOA CALM DOWN JAMAL!!! No but actually, gaming laptops aren't too bad. Sure, they can get really dusty but like @Phym said, if I wanted to play on the go, I wouldn't carry around a huge desktop, a monitor, power & video cables, and a keyboard and mouse.
