Difficulty installing, can't update

    When I downloaded the pre-race update, I would be told that I need a valid serial number. I downloaded the game and .exe from what someone posted on the forum, and it works fine but does not have an updater. If I try to install from the officail installer that is on this site I get this:

    The box in the middle picture only appears for about a second and then disappears, with no chance to type anything, and the box in the last picture appears immediately.

    Yes. But the funny thing is, it actually worked before. I just didn't bother with the installation because I already had the game working. Now I have no idea how I got it to work.

    yes, the setup from some days ago had exactly the bug that the serial number dialog crashed on windows xp systems. If you download the newer setup.exe from your order page, this bug should be gone.

    If not, please report back :)

    Thanks, I will try that. I hadn't tried before because it said 3.1 so I assumed it was the same.

    I would highly advise upgrading away from XP too. Even if you hate 8, 7 is still about.

    I got it working now, thanks.

    I will probably build a new computer soon, and install an OS other than XP on it.
