Converted all the windows on the upper deck to the small ones and lowered the roof so that the top deck has a lower ceiling. Combined with some other tweaks this makes the body around 0.5m or 20 inches shorter vertically, much closer to a real double decker bus. Wondering if I should start a thread for it yet, don't want to start one when I've not made much progress as I know that annoys people.
For some reason I can't get the modified mesh to show up ingame. Exported as a collada .dae from blender and Cleared cache game every time. Tried as an unpacked mod and then even tried overwriting core game files (after backing them up) just to see if it wasn't being loaded as a mod but still shows the unmodified mesh somehow? Edit: it seems if I modify parts of the existing mesh that shows up but newly created mesh/parts/objects that I made in blender don't show up in game. Is there a guide on what to do to fix this? Guessing I maybe have to create nodes and beams for the newly created mesh parts for them to show?
When you're creating an unpacked mod, are you also copying the Wentward files & renaming everything in them & inside the jbeams or are you just exporting the dae?
I put just the citybus.dae file in Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods\unpacked\dd\vehicles\citybus Core game files are unmodified (verified through steam) If I make changes to the lower part of the bus that was the original mesh it shows up in game, I messed the model up to show its being loaded, but the new mesh that was created for the upstairs section is not showing up.
I'm not entirely sure but I think you will need to copy all the jbeam files that are associated with parts of modified mesh into the unpacked folder & change their name as right now the default dae overwrites yours which is why it doesn't show up
Would the front of the bus be all messed up like I made it in blender if it was loading the default file? Or does it only show the bounds of the original mesh but including changes?
Is the upper part a separate object in blender? If it is it won't show up without changes made to the jbeam. --- Post updated --- I think anything that is put inside the mods folder will override default content. but you're right, jbeam edits are definitely needed for this to work even somewhat properly .
Yeah, they're separate objects. I think I know what you mean about the jbeam now, I remember it defining parts of the model in there.
Hotel Settlement will have walls surrounding, obviously unfinished but it's getting there. Also ignore the random plants in the middle of the road, just there as a place holder :3
tbh that dosint really make sense, having a round roamer facia on a boxy van is just a no in my opinion. If you want to make it all work then i suggest your adjust the facia a bit and add more curves to that body, good luck!
