I mean... technically... the crashing is usually the reason why people get this game lol. No other game has slow-motion vehicle crumpling, buckling and stress at 1000 frames per second in a realistic manner (because there might be some crashing games that work in a similar manner but the cars are like putty). Even Wreckfest has good damage but that's like "instantaneous" damage.
it was originally marketed as a crash physics simulation, the main sales video literally starts with a crash, and features many more crashes. Their description has wording like, "crashes are realistic and violent". Now I am willing to admit that this has a lot more to it, but the main thing that this game can do that other's can't, is simulate crashes and interactions of that nature. If they were serious about this being much more, they would have not left multiplayer to modders, to modify a game that's made on a multiplayer focused game engine to accept said multiplayer functionality. I like this game, and I make relatively successful videos from automation, to BeamNG doing that I like to do. Which is make cars to do a certain thing, then have fun racing, rallying, off-roading, role playing with friends on the BeamMP mod (usually not focusing, or even having crashes). I want this game to be more, and a lot of that revolves around it being more realistic. I'd like to know when my race crash has been fatal, compared to just needing a repair, and this can aid in role playing too.
This is more than a crash sim. Since BeamNG accurately simulates almost every aspect of a car it’s an incredible driving simulator.
I agree but not quite. Still missing key things like tire models and stuff. Cars feel strange to drive.
oh yeah, that was going to be one of the other things I requested too, especially tire wear, so I could do endurance races with friends, but that was for the multiplayer mod side of the game
Well more just how they behave and whatnot. That kind of tire model. They don't feel like real tires when driving.
