Street Lights in official games (east/west coast?)

    I am wanting this very bad, we need them for pictures, etc. Any estimate? And if you are gonna comment about affecting performance, I understand that. :rolleyes:

    I'm almost certain they could do it as I've seen map mods do it it little to no performance affects.

    But do keep in mind that the devs have priorities, and this might not be one of them as of right now.

    Well, yes, performance is a factor.

    Most of the night lighting thing could be sorted out by adding point and spot lights to the level and using a script to turn the lights on and off depending on the time of day. Multiple mod maps use this, as do the most recent versions of Utah and Small Island, USA.

    But to really polish the effect, you'd need the textures for building windows to change, to fake the effect of turning interior lights on and off. East Coast USA is a bit more lenient here, since the first floor shops in downtown Firwood have an actual interior, albeit an oversimplified one. But the skyscrapers in West Coast USA's Belasco and the houses and potentially streetlights everywhere would need some kind of material altering mechanic to really make it look convincing.
