Brake issues since upgrading G29 to loadcell

    I have G29, which I recently modded.
It now has a load cell rather than potentiometer and connects to the PC via a Lea Bodnar BU0836-LC.
After a bit of setting up it runs really well with iRacing.
However when I try to use it with BeamNG it shows 100% braking when the pedal is not pressed, then as I slowly press it down it suddenly jumps to 0% and gradually increases to 100% the further I push.
If I push really slowly, as it gradually increases it also flickers up to 100% momentarily.
When viewing the raw data in DIView app, it is consistent with what I see in iRacing, it does not show the BeamNG issues.
Any idea how to get it to work with BeamNG?

I'm just guessing out loud but have you thought about setting the filter of your brake binding to direct instead of automatic (which is default) ? I'm using Fanatec Clubsport pedals with a load cell and never had problems before with braking.

Changing the dead zone might help.

    Thanks for the feedback.
Filters don't appear to make any difference.
Adjusting the deadzone doesn't help with the signal jumping up to 100% momentarily, nor showing 100% when no brake is applied.

Alright let's try and deduct further :
    • I also need to invert the axis but you probably figured out your axis polarity ?
    • On my load cell there is a potentiometer, it should not influence input up to a level of malfunctioning but maybe initially turn it up and down and up again (if you have one at least) ?
    • And most important imo : I remember my installation guide (long ago) saying that the load cell sometimes might need to be initiated by carefully applying full force on the brake pedal.
These are just some ideas, I don't know what the reason for malfunctioning in BeamNG (as opposed to iRacing) can be. For me it just worked like plug and play ever since I use them.

    I've found a fix.
I forgot to mention that the loadcell I am using is already amplified so connects to the axis input, not the loadcell input.
The brake was connected to axis 7, I moved it 4 and it works. Even iRacing worked without me needing to recalibrate the inputs!
Thanks Nocargo, it was your questioning that made it think to try a different axis.
