No talking rubbish, got it. Thanks. --- Post updated --- Something I would like for christmas would be for the tuning menu to tell you what a setting will do to how your car drives when you hover over it. --- Post updated --- Would help noobs like me. I have no idea how roll stiffness will affect my car, or camber, or the diff settings. The only one I can do is engine. --- Post updated --- I would also want to be able to precisely set the environment stuff. I want to know how much cloud cover there is. 'A bit'. How is that helpful? I want to be able to click on arrows to turn it up or down, like in the boxes for tuning. I want to be able to easily set the speed for day and night, instead of trying to move my mouse 1 millimetre, and moving it 2, every single time. And then I get the number I want for night, but not day - 0.51, 0.50. It drives me nuts! Rant over.(I think) I might try and send the devs a link to this forum. I have the address -support@beamng.com
Yeah it seems like the SBR4 fits under the upper end of sports cars. Basically the SBR4 is closer to the Toyota Supra or Porsche Cayman market but it seems like it barely has a real life counterpart.
Yeah. The faster version - s and s2 are like a 911, but the slower ones don't have any counterpart. Apparently, there was a leaked document from the devs, that said that the SBR4 was completely fictional and didn't take inspiration from anything.
That's what I like about it. It's such a melting pot that it's hard to find something similar to it in more ways than just one. I think the devs should go that route more often cause it gives them more opportunities to do whatever they want, unlike (for example) the K-Series, which is so specific that it's probably the easiest one to figure out what it's based on (i also think it should be updated so that it's more fun to drive, cause right now it's kinda mundane, but that's a discussion for another thread).
I think somebody already said it here, but we really need some older stuff. The oldest thing we have in the game at the moment AFAIK is the Burnside, which is lovely, but also not nearly old enough. I'd love to see some prewar cars from the '30s, or maybe even some stuff from the '20s. I feel like with the introduction of the FCV, which is of course very current, it really outlined the lack of some proper old cars.
Yeah, the only option for a pre-war car is the Crashhard Classic --- Post updated --- Maybe there aren't any old cars because there aren't as many records of how they were built and stuff. Beamng's USP is accuracy, and that would be difficult if there aren't enough records to work from.
I think a first all steel body ( about a 1934 1935/6 ) Will be GREAT!! Stock 2 door and 4 door, Custom ( resto ) ( Witch has a new power train and independent front end ( as 30s car used beam i think? ) With a Auto and a 5.5 Swapped into it. Possible Chop top to ( IMO chop top yuck ) Hot rod, Like the Custom/resto mod. But with 50s/60s Parts. Like from barstow, Flame paint, and all that. rat hot ( less said about that the better IMo )
Maybe we don't have any bc it's hard to model that kind of body, or it needs way more nodes to get good deformation.
The CrashHard Classic has this kind of body and it's all scratch modelled and Jbeamed so it is possible. Yes it has many nodes but that's not an issue.
The problem with 1920s cars is that they are made like boats/planes of the era: Sturdy frame with riveted sheet metal or wood. This means that prewar cars don't deform, they break into pieces.
It's just a generic s15 wallpaper, but it was one of the only correctly proportioned ones for a Santa hat lol. Thanks a lot!
I don`t have any skills in editing so I drew my Christmas hat with some snow. Using a mouse. It was harder than I thought.
