30-40fps is not bad at all.. That's really all you need to play a game. and there is a bunch of settings you can do to up the games performance if you still aren't satisfied. You can turn the lighting and texture quality to low and also turning off SSAO gives you some more fps
Texture quality makes almost no difference I've found. That is in terms of FPS, looks much better on high rather than low of course
I actually find the game runs a fraction of a FPS higher if I leave Models and Textures on high on my HD3000. It makes me wonder if it downscales live instead of downscaling once and then storing the new assets in vram or in the game directory for future use?
Re: New update runs like absolute s*** dear mr {}, your desktop computer is the most ridiculously stupid build i've ever seen in my life. combining an extremely low power budget brand AMD processor with a liquid cooling system, 750w power supply, and 3 year old entry level discrete graphics card is the most insane thing i've ever seen for a 'gaming' computer. did you put it together yourself, or scavenge a junkyard for the parts? you should be ashamed. there is no way this game runs "fine" on your computer unless you're the kind of person who sits there crashing cars on gridmap while driving with your keyboard at 25fps and calls it "playable". try setting up a steering wheel or controller and driving a car quickly on an actual road without crashing while your FPS spikes between 30 and 60 while stuttering; see how far you get. it's absolutely insane to think your subpar hardware gets anywhere near playable FPS in ANY game while "maxed out", let alone this very processor intensive game. Even small FPS fluctuations or stutters will throw off my driving ability, and this new update has brought along quite a few areas where these stutters happen where they did not happen before. i'm running on a very cookie-cutter intel i5 4670k and a gtx 760 with an SSD - most of the users here have far less powerful hardware than me, including you. the FPS drops are real. there is a ZERO percent chance your processor is running at 5.7ghz. that is beyond liquid nitrogen cooling territory. you are literally the last person on this forum i would ever want advice from when it comes to framerate, computer hardware, or anything about technology. yes, people are allowing complain about PROBLEMS with an ALPHA game. that is how things get fixed and change for the better.
Re: New update runs like absolute s*** Let's not forget the game doesn't appear to garbage collect art assets (not sure about code-side) so defraging won't help much here, if at all. And besides, file fragmentation isn't as huge of a problem as it used to be anyway, as far as I'm aware.
Re: New update runs like absolute s*** you actually think it's possible that your processor is running at 5.7ghz? read this and understand that your 47x clockspeed multiplier is not working how you think it is: http://www.passmark.com/forum/showthread.php?3580-AMD-Llano-fake-overclocking-A4-A6-A8 and this http://www.techpowerup.com/148636/a8-3850-has-ineffective-bclk-multiplier.html and these professionals couldn't get past an actual 4.75ghz with liquid nitrogen as cooling: http://www.pcper.com/news/Processor...ve-Llano-Overclocking-Results-Come-Close-5GHz -- i'm sorry you decided to lie about your performance, running the game "perfectly," etc, but i really hate seeing bullshit information pass as the truth, especially when it comes to something as important as game performance in this alpha state.
How is it that I run 3 year old top end hardware, UNSLI'd GTX 480(Stock) Phenom II X6 1095T (Stock) And I'm getting more FPS then people on Dry Rock Island, then Grid Map? Everything at max except AA is at X2. When people are running 8320's and Radeon 270X's lol?
Re: New update runs like absolute s*** Ahahahaha. My CPU does the same thing too. I can increase the multiplier and it will report the higher multiplier in CPUz but it won't actually increase the CPU speed which means no improvements. (I've had 5.4GHz reported.) The issue with mine is that I used to have like 3.4GHz actual speed out of it through increased bus speed but for some reason whenever I increase the bus speed in the BIOS (Even just 1MHz) it won't make it past post at all. I can get to 104MHz in Control Center but it's really not that much of an improvement. (I want to get a new motherboard/CPU sometime since I recently got a R9 270 GAMING and it's bottlenecked in most games, especially Drive, even with the settings maxed.) If you really want a performance improvement, increase the bus speed but you still should really get better hardware.
Did OP get it going? I lost track of who was who once the hilarity ensued. Seeing how technical OP seems to be, may I suggest you try running the game without the OC? Have you tested it for stability? Hours of Prime95 will do it. If it's not stable it'll show in BeamNG for sure. i5 here. Runs well. Short and to the point, I guess. I enjoy your shitty updates btw
Don't listen to this @$$hole Tdev. he OBVIOUSLY isn't technologically savvy. The program runs a lot smoother since the update. And I Love everything that Beamng has laid on the table metaphorically so far. HELL! I am using an old Dual Core and 4GB's of RAM. and a low end ATI Card, and can run 2 cars on Grid test track and no lag after the 1st car spawns.
Re: New update runs like absolute s**t Make sure its running with your better graphics card. Not the crappy Intel one! But seriously, you didn't need that bad language. You disobeyed the fourm rules :-/ - - - Updated - - - You do realize thate tdev is the main developer for BeamNG.Drive. But your probably being sarcastic .
i cant run updater it tells me your anti-virus or fireware dont let the actualization downloads or some like that and i turn off anti virus and firewall and say same thing please help me someone i cant update game :C
Uh, this is an old thread for the old updater. Do you have the game on Steam? If not follow the instructions on how to get it on steam and update it there.
