As I said, it's relative to the original vehicle weight. I'd you remove 50kg from a bus you won't gain a second on a "standard track"

Except we're talking about something standard here. 50kg is worth about 1s in GT4 and GT3 racecars which are in that mid/high 2000lbs range. All im saying is that there's a definite advantage in a normal car, doesnt have to be a tiny exo-car.

That said for the guy you quoted, it's probably just because he was now leaning hard into the traction control, so no matter what he couldnt use his added performance anyway. Weight seems to work ok in Beam as far as weight reduction, although not enough things affect total weight.

I'm with LeveQ on this one, 50 kilos can really make a difference on acceleration and handling

Then you're limited by wheelspin and you still are limited by gearing.

has anyone noticed that the size of the Vivace is a bit unrealistic?
I used ETK 800 wagon as a reference in my screenshots. I feel like the Cherrier Vivace, a European hatchback likely the size of Golf and Focus is wider and almost the same length as the ETK 800 wagon, which I believe is similar in size as a 3 series estate.
Same story goes when I compare the Vivace with the Sunburst, Viviace is quite a lot bigger in size than a Sunburst. I know it is unfair comparing modern car sizes to older ones, but the Sunburst is only 10 years older, which to some brands 10 years time is only a 1 generation difference.
I also compared the weight, which again confirms that Vivace is indeed the bigger car. I used performance models with their heaviest engines for a fair comparison. The Vivace is the heaviest among them, weighing in at 1.624 tons, where the sunburst only weights 1.4 tons, and the ETK weights less at 1.609tons. Again I don't think a sub compact hatchback will weigh more than a midsized executive estate, or am I wrong?
Personally I think it is a bit unusual, I don't know if it is just me.

wow, never realized, you are right. Also a bit offtopic but it seems as if the cars are too strong, the damage you get at 60mph is what crash tests get at 40.

Hopefully I'm not too off-topic, I just think it does relate to the gameplay as I always do feel the weight and the size of Vivace especially on tight Italy roads.

Honestly, I think that calling the Vivace a hatchback is a stretch. It feels like a wagon, so much so that when someone added in a wagon mod with the WBIMP pack, it (modded version) felt like a minivan. My vision for cherrier is:
New platform - Hatch and compact sedan
FCV - small wagon, crossover, full size sedan (Emmouse - which needs more configs)
New platform - Minivan and larger SUV

I also wish that there were seperate options for each model (different menu for Tograc/Cherrier), and a system for all official vehicles that reflects what the Kashera mod did: seperate UK, EU, JDM, and US menu options.

I know, and based on its weight and its size I would think that it is a small wagon as well, however in the vehicle selection menu it says that the Cherrier Vivave is a compact hatchback. I personally cannot think of any compact hatchback being wider and heavier than a midsized wagon.

Modern compacts are now the size of compact wagons of just a couple of generations ago.

Like, the current Ford Focus hatchback is 4.38m long. By comparison, the first generation Focus Wagon was 4.45m long. The BMW 3-Series E90 sedan was 4.52m long, E91 Wagon was 4.61m long...

The size is weird but I think the weight is pretty fine. Similar to a Mercedes A45 S.

to be fair, modern safety systems and such add a lot of weight
i dont think the size is particularly unreasonable if we remember the 800 series probably originated in around 2005-10, and cars have got pretty big since then

You also have to consider that its main chassis is also shared with the Tograc SUV.... which might explain its above expected size and as a result, weight.

Vivace is not too heavy considering you are measuring weight for the awd version with a larger engine. A 2018 Ford Focus RS with awd and about the same performance weights about 1550 kilograms which is not a lot lighter. There are lighter hot hatches like Renault Megane RS at 1430 kg however Megane does not have all wheel drive which adds a bit of weight. I do not agree about the Vivace feeling like an estate since it has no reason to. Recent estates similar in size to the vivace can weigh up to around two tons. Size is also not too large. It might be a bit too wide, but real life cars are pretty similar in length and other dimensions. I compared a BMW 3 series wagon length to the length of a Ford Focus and Renault Megane, in my opinion the most similar irl cars to their BeamNG counterpart. BMW 3 series is 4.7 meters long, Focus and Megane (hatchback versions, not estates) are both 4.3 meters long.

Conclusion: Vivace is not too heavy or large, it might be just a bit too wide.

EDIT: After a bit more research, I found out that 800 series should be way heavier with at least 1800 kilograms to be more realistic, considering its size.
