Re: General discussion chat I somehow was able to restart my tablet and retain admin privileges. I ain't even mad.
Re: General discussion chat I had some eBay bucks I forgot to use on my last purchase (The copper shims) and so I used them on buying a new giant tube of cheap Chinese thermal paste and a small tube of Arctic MX-2. It's gonna be fun seeing which is better. I actually like the Chinese thermal paste I use on everything. Obviously it's not the best thermal paste but it's easy to apply and the tube is really big. My dad bought it years ago and the only reason it's running out is because I've re-applied the thermal paste on my laptop a lot. (Along with all my other laptops and stuff.)
Re: General discussion chat Damn I should've upgraded to Win 8.1 Update 1 a long time ago. Win 8 Ram usage idle: 1.9GB Win 8.1 Update 1 Ram usage idle: 920MB
Re: General discussion chat Do not stare directly at a 1W led in close proximity just as it turns on, fecking blinding that is. For reference, they kick out about 120-140 lumens, not too far behind a 50-60W halogen light bulb
Re: General discussion chat Asking for thanks is not gonna get you a bunch. (Saying that because I know one of you sneaky basterds are gonna thank the post if I say none.)
Re: General discussion chat Seriously? Dang, I need to upgrade. See, the problem is that I was stupid enough to try and install Windows 8 on my laptop and use the same key I used on my desktop. It worked but now whenever I try to upgrade it says the key is in use even though I got rid of 8 on my laptop and put 7 on it a long time ago. - - - Updated - - - So, like a year or two ago my dad gave me a brand new extended 68Wh battery (Sometimes he finds good stuff in the tech recycling thing at his work. That's where I got my laptop.) for a Dell Latitude D430 which is basically a netbook version of the D630 which I used to have. It has a 12.1 inch 1280x800. It has a Intel 945GMS which is terrible, but at least it's compatible with GMABooster. The one I got has 2GB of RAM and the fastest CPU you can get for it, a 1.33GHz Core 2 Duo. I wonder if I could fit my 2.55GHz T9400 CPU in it.. It doesn't include a HDD or HDD cable. The cable was cheap but it uses a ZIF drive which aren't as fast and are more expensive than normal laptop drives. Because a 120GB drive would cost more than the laptop itself I ordered a used 40GB. I'll definitely be doing what I do to all the laptops/netbooks I use: New thermal paste and copper shims along with undervolting and overclocking if possible. I'll probably have Windows 7 as the main OS but have a small partition for Windows XP like I do with my current laptop and netbook.
Re: General discussion chat Still going hard.... (Probably not for long) Yes, old pants and clothes, got pretty muddy. EDIT: XR400 ftw
Re: General discussion chat I was just literally inches away from accidentally bumping some month-old 5 second work. Stopped myself just in the nick of time when I saw how old it was
Re: General discussion chat Alright alright this is some fuckin bullshit here. So a week ago coming home from the lake, I noticed a cushman vanster sitting in between a shed and a barn next to the highway. It looked like it hadn't moved in a while. So this weekend, it was still there, and I got my mom to get the truck and take me over to the house to check it out. So I get there and it's a little farm house. I knock on the door and no one answers. After about a minute I accept my fate and start walking back down the front sidewalk to go home. Then this little old lady comes around the corner of the house and says "can I help you". So I told her that I saw her cushman, and I like them, and I'd like to take a look at it. Then she said a boy down the street bought it LAST WEEK for 500 bucks. The same exact amount I was gonna offer. So I was like oh fuck, and I wasn't too disappointed. I gave her my name and number and she said she'd call me if for some reason the boy changed his mind or he wanted to get rid of it. I wasn't getting all flustered because I thought it was a 3 wheel model, which are pretty common, and not really my favorite. But today we were driving by it again it again, and the sun was shining on it directly. It was a 4 wheel model. areyoufuckingkiddingme.jpg The 4 wheel ones are really rare, and some asshole kid that lives up the street bought it for 500 bucks and is probably just gonna beat it to hell. The only glimmer of hope I have is that he gave her the money for it a week ago, but it's still sitting there. Which makes me think that maybe, for some reason he won't be able to get it. When he tells her that, she can refund him or whatever and call me up. I'd be on that like stink on shit. But that probably won't happen.
Re: General discussion chat I've just seen my first '67 Mustag GT350 in Germany ... It's a pretty rare sight...you almost never see old american cars here so I felt like sharing this I wish I could take a pic but sadly, I was driving alone. It was going pretty slow on the highway(maybe 80-90 kmh)...probably because of the gas costs it comes with The driver was an old man and we traded thumbs ups followed by a smile ....Today was a good day.
Re: General discussion chat LOL that child mentality, why don't you get a dirtbike? Way more fun than just putting around at 10 mph with no suspension.
