What the heck is ETK 2400, I think you mean the I-Series, which is playing "Wake me up before you go-go" if I remember the title correctly

You are correct, I forgot what it was called since I don't really use the car very much anymore, it could definitely use a revamp.

not sure if this has already been mentioned but in the d45 & superpig teaser tuesday, the caption says do you wish you could take a friend on an adventure, this seems to hint at online multiplayer in the future. there is a mod for multiplayer and other cool mods have been made official before.

Okay! So, after playing the new 0.21 update and catching up on pages and pages of new posts, I think it's time I put my two cents into the BeamNG jar.

First of all, this update - like usual - was fantastic. I absolutely love the new D45 and the new facelifts. It's nice that I can use something bigger than the H45 but not as big as the T65 (for hauling cars and stuff). I also really like the ambulance upfit. The pre-runner (why do we call it that? I call it a trophy truck) and crawler are awesome to drive as well. My honest opinion though, it was weird seeing a whole bunch of different trims using different fascias and stuff. I get that giving us every trim and config would be not only time-consuming but also overwhelming, but I dunno. I like my order I guess.

Again, to be honest, I kinda was expecting the JRI remaster, I just didn't know it would be this early. Regardless, it feels a lot different. And most definitely not in a bad way. I love all the revamped spots and the new abandoned resort. This remaster just added more replay-ability to an already great-to-explore-and-have-fun-getting-lost kinda map.

There's always gonna be a few nitpick-y things that I'm always gonna think about. For example, I consider the D10 Charro and the D30 Kentarch to be similar to the sort of truck-framed SUVs - not like the Roamer. The Ford Bronco and Dodge Ramcharger are excellent examples, along with the Ford Excursion and Chevy Suburban. My peeve however is that these "truck-SUVs" are under the D-Series, and not its own vehicle. I think more work could be done fully fleshing out stand-alone, unique variants like the Charro. And that goes for some of the other facelifts, too. I think we need more "new generation" vehicles. It's most definitely possible.

As for speculation on new content for update 0.22 (I'm going with the Spring 2021 update), I'm actually pretty content with everything right now. Sure, I'll be back here more often when new teasers hit and hype goes back up, but for now? Pretty chill.

I agree with (and probably speak for) everyone on this when I say that vehicles like the Pigeon, Bolide, LeGran, and Covet could use some of that remaster magic - especially the Bolide. I know that the H-Series is coming, and hopefully a T-Series remaster is in the works, but these four I mentioned kinda need that attention. Of course, I think everyone also knows that everything will be given in due time.

As for BRAND NEW content, the Soliad Wendover is really where it's at. The LeGran possibly getting a wagon variant is much appreciated. I hope for a 2-door coupe version, something like the Buick Regal (I really just want a turbo'd GNX-style LeGran). I also noticed that the Covet's body is no longer named "Unibody", rather I believe it's now called "Hatchback Body". I hope that this implies new body styles for the Covet, too. It's somewhat-real-life-counterpart, the Honda Civic, had not just a hatchback body style, but also 4-door sedan and 5-door wagon bodies (I believe the Accord had one too).

TL;DR: I like the new content, both the D45 ambulance and JRI resort. I know more vehicles and configs are inbound, but until then, I'm more than happy with what I've been given. For now. (I think I put in more than two pennies, maybe a whole half-dollar.)

As of the new update, dynamic reflections are not shaded properly unless the car's lights are on. This is most visible on Utah.

LOL I noticed this too. But I think these are still a work in progress. Surely there will be things fixed soon.

A prerunner and trophy truck are technically different types of vehicles, though in pop culture the names are incorrectly used interchangeably. By the traditional definition, prerunners are generally RWD scout trucks for the actual race truck.

The config selector for the D-Series is honestly getting kinda brutal... Unfortunately the current UI is just really limited, the devs really don't have any tools to do anything about it with the current UI. There's no way to add a separate selector for options like model year/4x4/transmission, and I assume no way to add a tertiary layer to the selection process. Color coding configs better would go a long way though. For example, make all D15 V8 Extended cab configs the same color whereas currently they are 3 unique colors. The skittle bag look takes the rough UI layout and makes it even worse.

All of those SUV's are truck based SUVs. The Charro is definitely strongly influenced by the Bronco, down to even having a crew cab conversion of the 15/35 just like Centurion had their F150/350 crew cab Bronco. The Suburban is a strong influence for the Roamer though... Note the extended version compared to the Tahoe/Yukon and Suburban/Yukon XL. The reason they are under the D-Series in the selector is again a UI limitation. I asked about it before it was even in game and the response given was that the only way to do that would be to copy the entire vehicle file, there's currently no way to have 2 UI selectors for 1 vehicle file. Hence the limited trim levels of the Charro, there just isn't enough room in the config selector for too many.

There's definitely a lot of room for more facelifts of other vehicles, I certainly hope to see this become common. Luxury marque variants and maybe even market variations too. US spec Bolide bumpers plz... Maybe after we get a new UI though...

I know everyone, myself included, wants more body styles, but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. We still don't know what that crossover LeGran thing is, though it does seem like an official wagon of some description. Aside from that, all of the renamed unibodies we've been seeing might just be for the sake of organization or future proofing for something far ahead. Of course I am hoping to see a lot of body styles in the foreseeable future, but I'm not ready to actually expect it yet.

If i'm not mistaken Trophy trucks are usually built on bespoke platforms while Prerunners (name come from vehicles that are used to scout or "pre run" offroad courses) are modified production truck chassis.

If anyone who's an expert on this sort of thing, please chime in.

Probably a way to free the user interface there is, I think developers should show first the choice of the car manufacturer for example: Gavril, Ibishu, Hirochi ... then the various cars: D-series, H-series, Roamer ... and finally, after choosing one, the various configurations, perhaps divided as you said.

This is what I was thinking for a third layer. I know the images are tiny but it's a copy of a copy of a edit I made a long time ago, I don't have the original pic any more.

Having the first layer be a master layer as it currently is will let users see all their choices. The second layer is the main configs and the third is the variations of that config. This way the second layer still shows the main configs but isn't spammed by minor variations of the same thing.

I agree. This most definitely would work, and it would look a lot more refined. I guess we'll just have to wait until something new is implemented.
