Well I actually have a list... so hang on a second... So, according to my list... I still have roughly 104 parts to add into the game still... more than I thought as I have been crossing them off quite a lot lately. This, however, does include the interior... as Sithhy has decided that the interior I made for the B1 a while ago was to close to the real life truck, so now he is redoing the interior. So for me to add back any bits of that I kinda need that to be done... and, from a quick glance, the interior bits are a solid 30 items on my list alone.
It figures. It was about time for the existential crisis and subsequent remodel of questionable necessity. In all seriousness, though, I don't mean to give anybody a hard time. You guys take your time, I'm sure the end result will be worth the wait.
While true, in his defence, when I originally made the interior, I didn't make it modular as the body's weren't modular back then... I just made one interior and basically adapted it a little bit for each body. We both know what we are doing quite a bit more now and basically both decided that, at the very least, they needed some redoing to make them modular... so he decided to just redo them entirely as he kinda saw an opportunity and took it. Interestingly enough, even though I am normally an advocate for just keep it as close to a Hummer as possible, I do like what he had been making for this one. A normal H1 interior is very flat and rather lifeless (well... the "pre Alpha" ones anyways, so a different interior with a whole lot more detail is actually a welcome addition. For an idea of what it looks like (as I don't know if he is ready to share it yet) he is basing it off the style of the Hopper interior... which does seem somewhat fitting.
only time will tell. here's hoping it's sooner than later. Anything to tease as of late? (pictures wise of course) or is it all boring tedious little things that will eventually make it more of a whole?
Not much to tease at the moment... was working on it till literally 6AM modifying tons of files, tuning things, adjusting things... mostly weight tuning to try and get the weights more accurate... but no new parts unfortunately.
Yeah... I mean... I would love to say, "WE ARE DONE!!!1! RELEASE NOWZ!!", but... it's just not ready... not yet. And thankfully it isn't just me anymore... but I am still doing the majority... not because of any reason, but because that's how things are working out at the moment. I am making pretty good progress lately, and I have so much of it done... its close... but not quite there. And at the moment, it's not even about polish or anything like that. It still needs a lot of Quality Control to work out a lot of bugs... For example: In the final release... this will not be possible... ideally you want no overlapping parts as this could just lead to terrible instabilities... stuff binding up... and honestly... the fit and finish just looks bad when stuff like this happens... but this gives you an idea of some of the gibberish we are still working out. So unfortunately... the release date is pretty much... it's done when it's done. I don't know how to pin it down any better than that right now. The good news is that I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel... Most of the parts are in game... 90% of the models are done... I recently did a lot of weight tuning so now most of the weights are "fairly" accurate... she's a bit chunkier than a real Hummer, but this is its own thing, so I am just gonna wave my magic lore hands and say, "it's different" and be done with it on that front. No need for me to go out and start weighing lug nuts to make sure I get the hub weight exactly right or dumb stuff like that. So yeah... I can see the light at the end of the tunnel... it's coming... just have yet to see if it's the end, or a train.
The picture you posted would be considered complete by Bethesda standards. Jokes aside, it is incredible the amount of work it takes for these projects, and we're all very appreciative that you and other creators take the time and effort in developing these amazing vehicles/mods. I really wish I had something to bring to the table, or be a part of it in some way, but unfortunately I posses no such skill to turn vision into reality.
Teeeeechnically, we were demonstrating our awe towards the vehicle's progress (or, at least, I was), so we're on topic. Either way, though, progress looks great. I'm especially excited to see how the tracks turn out.
Yeah... I gotta take another stab at them. Right now they are relegated to my storage on my hard drive, but getting them back in game would just be a couple clicks. Getting them to work well though... well... that's gonna take a whole bunch more doing. I did get them stable enough to drive on... but they liked to bust apart a lot for one reason or another. They couldn't hold up a ton of weight, and for whatever reason, whenever you decided to run them the game would turn into full on lag fest. Its something I really want to get back into and I might actually do soon. I like the idea of them, and I think that they would still make a great addition.
