yeah, updates should not cost money. Anyways idk, a bolide with usdm bumpers would look pretty strange, and if you already bought the car you can take them off
i know they shouldnt be exploited but i was saying figuratively i would pay money because it annoys me that much and yea ik a usdm bolide would look strange, that's kinda the point for me, it should reflect the strange mods needed for supercars back then
The reason why devs dont add EUDM/JDM configs is probably UI (keep in mind D-series selector mess), otherwise i see no problem in adding just a few parts
you're probably right, but even adding the parts and not making configs yet would be a start i do think we've long since reached the point where the development of the game and especially the vehicles is being held back by the ui. even a bodge to combine manual and auto configs would significantly improve it for vehicles like the d-series but i dont know how much longer the devs can go on restricting what they can do with the game because of the ui
Some time ago i posted a thread about EUDM/JDM cars, it got deleted and all posts moved to vehicle suggestions thread. There also were a few threads about this. Still no response from devs
Don't get me wrong, I'd certainly like to see market variations, but I don't see it happening. That's a lot of details to keep track of and things get complicated when starting to consider market specific configs, how it'll be handled in career mode (Example: The FCV would need to be barred from half the maps in game due to import restrictions), and the UI would just pack its bags and submit its resignation. I think the best thing to do is put the major parts that would get changed in as aftermarket items. For example, the Bolide could get USDM but have a "EUDM style" aftermarket option. Off Topic: Don't get me started on DLC again, it's only been like three weeks since last time... Though this time I'd actually agree with the "this shouldn't be DLC" side since hypothetical market variations would be a core game play item opposed to an additional bit of content...
Yeah, I don't see DLC being added to BeamNG any time soon, as that may likely cause a great divide in the community or whatever, but that's just my opinion.
By that logic Wreckfest, Cities Skylines, and all 3 of the Spintires franchise games wouldn't have their DLC, which have all been very successful and coexist with large modding communities. Besides, with how often the game is pirated (refer to official pirate backslash), by that logic they would just give the game away for free and find another source of income instead
It does make the playerbase very split up though, and from what i can see from beamngs community, is that its basically as split up as a broken mirror. Adding Dlc just makes it even more devided.
On a note actually related to near future speculation, I really hope that the cargo options we got in the hot fix is a preview of things to come soon. Currently we have short/long wood planks and an adjustable mass block for the interior/cargo rack of the H-Series, flatbed for the D-Series (named "bed extra" instead of "load" for some reason), short/step/long bed for D-Series. Annoyingly, these are in the "accessories" slot so you need to know where to look for it... Hopefully some day they can get that in the UI in a separate place without conflicting with the accessory slot. Currently if you want to use the search bar to find these, it's under something completely different on the H-Series and different beds for the D-Series... Not exactly a user friendly solution. The trailers also have these options (the fifth wheel flatbed lacks an adjustable load however), but there are no slots for the tie down straps like there are on the trucks. Those loads are also fixed in position, whereas they can move around a bit on the ones introduced in the hotfix. I'm sure the first thing that came to mind for a lot of people is tie down straps for vehicle loads. Personally I'd also like to see more cargo options. Something with some free-surface effects like a slack tank of water (or mercury ) would be really cool to see for example. The Pigeon and Roamer need these load options too.
I honestly feel like the D-series selector would be less of a mess if they'd just embrace the config spam and include otherwise-identical M/A versions of everything the way they used to. With the way they try to keep the number of configs down, the manual and automatic versions of different configs are different model years and different colors, some combinations come in different automatic versions with different model years... it's an inconsistent, jumbled mess which makes it incredibly difficult to find what you're looking for. And then there are no 2WD D15s on the 0.3.0 original (92-97) fascia, so should those have ABS during those years? I can't tell. (It's important for a config I'm working on, though I already gave it the "late" engine stuff in a 92-97 body to bring it to performance parity with others I'm working on. I justified it by assuming it was a 96-97 model with the updated engine but not the updated body - lot of cars gained power in 1996 because of OBDII.)
Does anyone else think that given the loads we've seen and the EOL for the "adjustable weight loads" mod that we'll see loads in every car next update?
