Omg, I'm so glad somebody is putting in the time and effort to bring a Rover of all things into BeamNG! Will this mod include RHD versions? And will there be versions with blown head gaskets too? xD
I've always had in mind a model with blown head gaskets... As for progress, now I'm doing the textures and materials in BeamNG's format (.dds).
I've ironed some kinks of the model. - The bodyshell was tilted and it's rear was too wide - Minor issues with clipping parts. - The alloys now are closer to look like the original. The only thing to do is the engine, suspension springs and UVs... (It took me a lot of time to iron all the kinks... there were a lot of them)
Nice to see that you are still working on this mod. MG Rover is my most favourite car company of all time (you can probably tell from my profile pic)
Dad has lots of MGR cars, something stupid like 30 or so. Most were picked up dirt cheap as they were going to the scrapyard. We have a few later 45s, and also a 420 GSi which we are planning to stick a turbo on. We've got all the stuff for it, just need the time to get it done.

there are estate versions, however they are custom Honda Civic Aerodecks with the front ends and badges from the 400/45. Honda (who I believe were in charge of production at the time) didn't allow MG Rover to produce estates for some reason pics from Google
Yeah, the 400 HH-R and 45 never received estate versions sadly. Only the previous gen R8s had an estate version. Pity really, the HH-R shape would've looked brilliant as an estate! I once saw a Civic estate with ZS bits, like front end and interior. They claimed it was a "one off production car", though I'm pretty sure that's false.
I fixed some things that gave me headaches of the mesh... I made a new front double wishbone suspension based on the Covet's suspension... i'm doing the UVs in my free time... I'm think that the Rover mod is going to be a forum exclusive (It has trademarked names on it...) but i'm planning a variant for the repo, based on the Honda Civic MA8 but being branded as an Ibishu
