    Hi,

First of all, please don't use old World Editor. It's outdated.

Please describe your issue a little bit more.

What exactly are you trying to save?
Go to your Userfolder (by default it's in Documents), then go to the folder `levels` and check if you have any `.ter` files

i use the old world editor because i used it for a long time to edit maps and it's easier to use it than the new editor

When you start a new map, it doesn't put the terrain (TER) file in the right spot. You have to poke around for it. Sometimes it ends up in beamng.drive/levels/ or beamng.drive folder. Use the date modified or created to see which one is your terrain.
You need to then put it into your map's folder, and then modify the /levels/MAPNAME/main/missiongroup/main.mission.json line that has the terrain referenced. You can find which line it is (it is usually near the top), by searching for ".ter" without the quotes.
There is also a JSON file that matches the terrain name, make sure you edit the path in there as well (I am not 100% sure how much this additional file is needed, but I'd keep it anyway and make sure it points to the right file).

The world editor 1.0 does not save terrain changes in 0.21.x, this is confirmed. It also lacks the 15 degree increments when rotating things + holding shift. I am using 0.20 and the world editor 1.0 to create Los Injurus, just as before when 0.20 was the newest version I was using 0.19 to edit. I cannot afford to botch things up and have a two week set back on progress because of editor bugs. If things aren't fixed with the editor in the next game version(s), I will keep using 0.20. You can easily back up the game by copying the /steam/steamapps/common/beamng.drive folder to somewhere else on one of your computer's disk drives - this is what I do. This way regardless of issues with the game or updates or when it wants to update (this internet = dumpster fire), I can still do what I need to do, when I need / am able to do it.
To that same end I murdered the Windows 10 updater. It only booted me off my own computer ONCE and it was HISTORY. My Windows 10 install dates from DEC 2018.
A good place to put your terrain and it's matching .json file, is in your /levels/MAPNAME folder, where MAP NAME is whatever you want to call your map. Keep in mind you will then have to edit all the main.materials.json files to have the correct paths. You can make short work on this in Notepad++ which is free, by using the auto-replace or find-and-replace feature in the find dialog.
When naming your map, only use numbers and letters, and underscores _ like that. DO NOT use spaces, DO NOT use hyphen - (the dash), no other things besides just letters and numbers or it will botch the script, crash the game, or best case infinite loading screen.
If you get stuck on something, open up a stock map and see how the developers did things. Do not necessarily use my map as an example as it may contain bugs I have not yet caught. Use the developer's maps included with this game (they are in the installation directory under content directory) for ALL examples needed.

As the staff said, using the new editor is best, especially if you're new to this. I will be one of the last people who gives up on the old editor as I crash the new one constantly / instantaneously.
    --Good luck!
