you mean like that old v8-ish sound?
looked all over the game files for it, couldn't find anything resembling it anywhere
i assume it's holdover now and can't be found since the game switched audio engines years ago

huh, never knew there was a common folder in the vehicles section, thanks a ton
although replacing it probably wont sound great, since it's only one sample as opposed to several throughout the rev range

And I had no idea that folder had sounds, I might add the old V8 sound to my mod if possible now that I found it

Just leave the sound section in your engine jbeam blank, the game will fallback to these default sounds.

Then I guess I can just easily make a different variant of the 4.5L V8 swap but with an old sound? Cool, that will be a thing now, maybe I'll make like a legacy D-Series config with it
Edit: somehow my engine swap system doesn't like there being no soundConfig section and crashes the game. I guess I'll just add it as a normal D-Series engine.

just overwrite the v8_default sound file with whatever loop you want, keep the name as v8_default or whatever it is though
